    摘要: A color electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a plurality of electrophotographic photosensitive drums configured to develop images, an intermediary transfer member onto which developed images are transferred, and an image forming unit having a plurality of cartridge mounting portions for demountably mounting cartridges. The image forming unit is movable between a transfer position for transferring, onto the recording material, the developed images transferred onto the intermediary transfer member, and a mounting and demounting position for mounting and demounting the cartridges relative to the cartridge mounting portions. An opening permits mounting and demounting of the cartridges relative to the cartridge mounting portions of the image forming unit placed in the mounting and demounting position, and a locking member releasably locks the image forming unit which is moved to the mounting and demounting position.

    摘要: An electrostatic duplicator for forming color composite images and employing preformed electrostatic masters (color separated fixed toner images). The duplicator has a drum including four flat sides for mounting respective ones of the masters (4). The respective functional stations (charging, toning, transfer and cleaning) are positioned about said drum adjacent the respective flat sides. The drum is stationary during performance of the functions and automatically rotatable by an angle of 90.degree. in order to advance each of the electrostatic masters to the next station. Printing stock (to receive the transferred image) remains stationary until all of the component images of the composite image are received.

    摘要: The invention basically comprises systems and methods relating to the field of electrostatics and is concerned with multicolor electrostatic reproduction, printing or constituting on coated and uncoated print receiving media with multilayer apertured elements or screens carrying charge distributions in accordance with selected color separation patterns. Ions accelerated through the apertures of the multilayer element pass therethrough under modulation control dictated by the color separation pattern, thereby forming a modulated ion stream having a cross-sectional density pattern corresponding to the color separation pattern. Electrostatic latent images are formed with modulated ion streams and are developed in various ways.

    摘要: An electrophotographic method and apparatus therefor. The method is based on optically forming a conductivity image of a master on or in a photoconductive layer which is part of one of two spaced electrodes. An electric field is applied across the space between the electrodes during the formation of the conductivity image causing a migration of charged toner particles in a dispersion occupying the space between the electrodes. When the field is removed, and the electrodes are shunted a further migration occurs to form a toned image of the master on an image support at one side of the space. Positive or negative images can be formed according to the direction of the field and the sign of the charged particles.

When the first area passes through a charging position, a charging bias is adjusted so that the occurrence of an image defect is prevented.
