摘要： An illuminating membrane switch includes an upper membrane sheet, an electroluminescent device and a lower membrane sheet. The electroluminescent device is interposed between the upper membrane sheet and lower membrane sheet on which switch circuits are printed. In addition to emitting rays through the upper membrane sheet, the electroluminescent device has a plurality of openings allowing the switch circuits of them to contact each other. The keyboard utilizes the illuminating membrane switch to detect any input of keystroke and light up the symbols on the surfaces of key caps for a user to identify the function or alphabetic input of each key cap.

摘要： A panel unit for a dealing board has a keyboard unit provided with buttons, the keyboard unit has a printed substrate arranged on a display, fixed contacts which form switches provided for the buttons, and electric conductive contact rubber located on the printed substrate and provided with moving contacts opposing the fixed contacts. A panel is positioned on the electric conductive contact rubber and provided with the buttons. The panel has holes, the buttons are fitted into the holes to be vertically moveable so that the fixed contacts of the printed substrate come into contact with the movable contacts of the electric conductive contact rubber. The buttons are provided with an engagement portion for preventing the buttons from coming off the panel and the electric conductive contact rubber and the printed substrate have relief holes in which the buttons are fitted when the engagement portion holds the buttons.

摘要： A push button of a notebook computer key has a plate portion, a hook projection extending downward from the plate portion and having a distal outward hook end, and a conductive member spaced vertically downward from the plate portion. The hook projection extends into an upright hollow confining wall of a socket member. The top end of the socket member is provided with an inwardly extending peripheral flange to hinder movement of the distal hook end out of the receiving space to prevent detachment of the push button from the socket member. A circuit board is provided on a lower end of the socket member. An upright hollow guide projection extends from the circuit board and into the hollow confining wall of the socket member. The conductive member is disposed inside the guide projection. A resilient biasing member has a lower tubular section, an upper tubular section wider than the lower tubular section and supporting the plate portion of the push button, and a gradually expanding inclined section connecting the lower and upper tubular sections. The biasing member biases the conductive member away from the circuit board.

摘要： A membrane switch sheet is disposed on a base plate and an adhesive layer is formed all over the membrane switch sheet. A positioning sheet, which has positioning holes respectively corresponding to membrane switches arranged on the membrane switch sheet, is disposed on the adhesive layer, and a tact plate having a normally upward curved portion is bonded to the adhesive layer in each positioning hole. A mounting plate is disposed on the positioning sheet at a distance therefrom. The mounting plate has a sleeve at a position corresponding to each tact plate. A stem is slidably received in the sleeve. The stem is capped with a key top formed integrally therewith. An acutating coiled spring is fixed at one end and engaged at the other end with the tact plate. When the key top is depressed, the coiled spring presses down the corresponding membrane switch through the tact plate, turning on the switch. At the same time, the curved portion of the tact plate is flexed downward, producing a click-like touch in response to the keying operation.

The rocker action keys (25) include outwardly extending flanges (29) that include apertures (49, 51) positioned to receive protrusions (33) that extend downwardly along the edge of the bezel apertures (23) in which each key (25) is to be positioned. The bezel (21) is positioned such that each key aperture (23) and, thus, each key (25) overlies the dome (17) of the elastomer dome keypad (15) that the key (25) is to actuate. The dome contacting region of the keys (25) is a pair of curved webs (53, 55). The curved webs apply a broad steady orthogonal force to the top of the underlying dome causing the dome to collapse in an even, positive manner even though the keys follow an arcuate path of travel.
