摘要: A cable television apparatus includes a coupled-line directional coupler. The coupled-line directional coupler includes a coupled-line directional coupler body, an input side, an output side and a coupled side. The coupled-line directional coupler body receives a cable television video-audio-data signal through the input side or the output side. The coupled-line directional coupler body receives a high frequency signal through the input side. A frequency of the high frequency signal is higher than a frequency of the cable television video-audio-data signal. The coupled-line directional coupler body electromagnetically couples the high frequency signal to the coupled side. The coupled-line directional coupler includes a high pass filter function at the coupled side to filter out the cable television video-audio-data signal.

摘要: A directional coupler includes a first to a fourth port, a main line connecting the first port and the second port, a first and a second subline section configured to be electromagnetically coupled to the main line, and a phase shifter. The first subline section, the phase shifter, and the second subline section are arranged in this order in series between the third port and the fourth port. The phase shifter outputs a signal that is phase-delayed relative to an input signal. The phase delay amount of the output signal of the phase shifter relative to the input signal increases with increasing frequency of the input signal. A frequency twice as high as the frequency of the input signal at which the phase delay amount is 90 degrees is lower than the frequency of the input signal at which the phase delay amount is 180 degrees.

摘要: Approaches, techniques, and mechanisms are disclosed for allowing multiple distinct and diverse wireless services (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Radio Frequency for Consumer Electronics (RF4CE), ZigBee, etc.) to share common frequencies while utilizing a single set of antennas. Among other potential benefits, the techniques may permit the sharing of common frequencies amongst multiple services with reduced (or no) interference amongst the services relative to conventional designs, which, depending on the embodiment, may increase performance, improving manufacturability, save design and material cost, and so forth. According to one embodiment, a multi-input directional coupler printed circuit may be implemented for multiple wireless services. This device may include a single directional coupler with reduced or no loss, placed in series with two combiners that provide high isolation for wireless signals. The device may thus allow multiple wireless services with potentially different protocols to share the same or different frequency bands using a single antenna.

摘要: A directional coupler disclosed herein may include a main line provided on a substrate, the main line having a first end connected to an input port and a second end connected to an output port. The coupler may include a coupled line disposed on the substrate, the coupled line having a first end connected to a coupled port and a second end to an isolated port. The main line is electrically isolated from the coupled line. The coupled line includes multiple turns forming a winding, and a portion of the winding overlaps with the main line. The coupled line forms a plurality of windings inductively coupled with the main line. The main line and the coupled line are routed to propagate electric signals on both lines in a same direction, and enhance inductive coupling by mutual inductance.

In some implementations, a chain coupler assembly can include a plurality of couplers each having a driver arm configured to route a respective RF signal and a coupled arm disposed physically proximate to the driver arm to detect a portion of power of the respective RF signal. Portions of the driver arm and the coupler arm can form an overlapping region. At least one of the driver arm and the coupled arm can have a non-straight arm shape, and the coupled arms of the plurality of couplers can be connected together in series.

摘要: An electromagnetic coupler includes a first transmission line connecting an input port to an output port. A second transmission line adjacent the first transmission line connects a coupled port and an isolation port. The electromagnetic coupler provides a coupled signal at the coupled port, which is representative of an input signal at the input port. The amplitude of the coupled signal is related to the amplitude of the input signal by a coupling factor. A tuning element is provided adjacent to the first or second transmission line and is coupled to an impedance. Varying impedance values cause an adjustment to the coupling factor and reactive impedance values provide frequency filtering effects.
