摘要: In an example embodiment, an azimuth combiner comprises: a septum layer comprising a plurality of septum dividers; first and second housing layers attached to first and second sides of the septum layer; a linear array of ports on a first end of the combiner; wherein the first and second housing layers each comprise waveguide H-plane T-junctions; wherein the waveguide T-junctions can be configured to perform power dividing/combining; and wherein the septum layer evenly bisects each port of the linear array of ports. A stack of such azimuth combiners can form a two dimensional planar array of ports to which can be added a horn aperture layer, and a grid layer, to form a dual-polarized, dual-BFN, dual-band antenna array.

摘要: An electronic device may include a millimeter wave transceiver, a first antenna having a first resonating element at a first side of a substrate, and a second antenna having a second resonating element at a second side of the substrate. A first coplanar waveguide may convey millimeter wave signals between the transceiver and the first resonating element and a second coplanar waveguide may convey millimeter wave signals between the transceiver and the second resonating element. The first coplanar waveguide may be coupled to the first resonating element through the second coplanar waveguide. The second coplanar waveguide may be coupled to the second resonating element through the first coplanar waveguide. Ground conductors in the coplanar waveguides may form antenna ground planes for the first and second antennas while serving to maximize electromagnetic decoupling between the coplanar waveguides and thus isolation between the ports of the transceiver.

摘要: A radar system includes a plurality of radiating elements configured to radiate electromagnetic energy and a plurality of feed waveguides defining a common plane and configured to guide electromagnetic energy to the plurality of radiating elements. The radar system also includes a plurality of waveguides arranged as a dividing network configured to split the electromagnetic energy from the source among the plurality of feed waveguides, such that each feed waveguide receives a respective portion of the electromagnetic energy. Additionally, the dividing network is configured to adjust a phase of the electromagnetic energy received by each waveguide. The splitting and adjusting of the dividing network may be based on differences in height and/or width between the waveguides of the dividing network and the feed waveguides. At least a portion of the dividing network is located in a plane other than the common plane of the feed waveguides.

The radar system also includes a waveguide configured to guide electromagnetic energy between (i) each of the plurality of radiating elements and (ii) a waveguide feed. Further, the radar system includes a power dividing network defined by the waveguide and configured to divide the electromagnetic energy injected by the waveguide feed based on a taper profile.

摘要: In conventional article management systems, a problem has been presented in that the degree of control over how articles are managed has not been adequate. An article management system having: a line constituted by an open-type transfer line; a distribution area in which articles to be managed are placed, the articles to be managed being placed in the distribution area; an RF tag provided with a tag transmission unit for electromagnetic coupling with the line of the distribution area for the articles to be managed; a signal communication unit provided to the line; an antenna for electromagnetic coupling with the signal communication unit; and an RFID reader for sending out the transmission signal to the line via the antenna, and receiving a response signal output by the tag transmission unit via the line. Any variations in the operating characteristics of the tag transmission unit caused by the articles to be managed are detected as a result of variations in the intensity or phase of the signal reflected from the RF tag, whereby the presence of an article to be managed is detected.

摘要: A method and apparatus for producing an RF part of an antenna system is disclosed, as well as thereby producible RF parts. The RF part has at least one surface provided with a plurality of protruding elements. In particular, the RF part may be a gap waveguide. The protruding elements are monolithically formed and fixed on a conducting layer, and all protruding elements are connected electrically to each other at their bases via the conductive layer. The RF part is produced by providing a die having a plurality of recessions forming the negative of the protruding elements of the RF part. The die may be a multilayer die, having several layers, at least some having through-holes to form the recessions. A formable piece of material is arranged on the die, and pressure is applied, thereby compressing the formable piece of material to conform with the recessions of the die.
