The plug pieces are designed to enter in contact with each other, a male end of plug piece being accommodated in a first female end of plug piece. When the first plug piece is in contact with the second plug piece, electric contact elements accommodated in the plug pieces are in contact with each other. An insert accommodated in the female end of the first plug piece prevents inadvertent contacts by foreign bodies in the female end.

    摘要： An electrical connector includes a machined metal contact housing having a contact housing cavity surrounded by a contact housing wall. Two or more electrical contacts are disposed within the contact housing cavity. A polarization alignment key is disposed on an inside surface of the contact housing wall. A key-retaining pocket on the contact housing intersects an inside surface of the contact housing wall to form a longitudinal slot opening between the key-retaining pocket and the contact housing cavity. The key is mounted on the contact housing by virtue of a portion thereof being disposed in the key-retaining pocket. The electrical connector may be manufactured by (1) machining the key-retaining pocket in a metal blank from which the contact housing will be formed, (2) machining the contact housing cavity in the blank so as to intersect the key-retaining pocket, (3) mounting the key, and (4) mounting the electrical contacts.

    摘要： Configurable guide hardware is provided for aligning two associated connectors that are mounted on different circuit cards. The guide hardware includes a guide receptacle that is mounted to one of the circuit cards. The guide receptacle includes a housing that defines a channel and a keyway ring that is held in the channel. The guide receptacle is configured to receive a pin of a guide plug in the channel through a central opening of the keyway ring. The keyway ring includes a receptacle keying feature along an inner perimeter. The keyway ring is selectively positionable to locate the receptacle keying feature in multiple pre-defined angular orientations relative to the housing. The pin of the guide plug may also be selectively positionable in multiple pre-defined angular orientations.

    摘要： A mounting system for facilitating ordered mating of plural connectors includes a bracket having at least one feature for securing to a pole or wall. A plate is connected to the bracket and includes plural mounting positions. Optional grounding and/or surge arrestors may be included. In a keying embodiment, each mounting position has an inner perimeter shape different than the inner perimeter shapes of the other mounting positions. Each connector of plural first connectors includes a threaded portion holding a first nut with an outer perimeter having a shape unique as compared to the first nuts of other first connectors. The outer perimeter of the first nut seats into one, and only one, of the plural mounting positions of the plate. Optionally, a second plate may be mounted to and spaced from the first plate. The second plate includes plural keyholes which are aligned to the plural mounting positions. Each keyhole has an inner perimeter shape matching the inner perimeter shape of the mounting position to which the keyhole is aligned. The keyholes only permit a second connector, with a matching key nut, to pass therethrough and mate into the first connector in the aligned mounting position.
