    摘要: A connector assembly with overvoltage protection includes: a housing having a cavity therein; a printed circuit board residing in the cavity of the housing; an overvoltage unit mounted on the printed circuit board and configured to create an open electrical circuit when experiencing a voltage higher than a predetermined threshold; a plurality of first electrical contacts adjacent a first edge of the printed circuit board and electrically connected to the overvoltage unit, each of the plurality of first electrical contacts configured to receive a respective one of a plurality of electrical conductors of a hybrid jumper cable; a plurality of second electrical contacts adjacent a second edge of the printed circuit board and electrically connected to the overvoltage unit, each of the plurality of second electrical contacts configured to receive a respective one of a plurality of electrical conductors of a piece of communications equipment; and a plurality of optical connectors mounted within the cavity configured to receive optical fibers of the hybrid jumper cable and the piece of communications equipment.

    摘要: A surge-protected coaxial termination includes a metallic outer body, a center conductor extending through a central bore of the outer body, and a spark gap created therebetween to discharge high-voltage power surges. A plurality of dielectric insulators surrounds the center conductor on opposite sides of the spark gap. High impedance inductive zones surround the spark gap to form a T-network low pass filter that nullifies the additional capacitance of the spark gap. An enlarged portion of a center conductor mitigates deleterious effects of arcing. An axial, carbon composition resistor is disposed inside the outer body, and inside the dielectric insulator to absorb the RF signal, and prevent its reflection.

    摘要: A DC connector with a voltage-stabilizing function has a tube and a wire connected with a noise-resistant filter between the tube and the wire. The tube has an upper cap and a lower opening. The lower opening has an internal terminal for electrical connection when the tube is inserted into a corresponding socket. The upper cap of the tube has a first connecting part. An outer wall of the tube near the upper ring has a second connecting part. The filter has two electrode terminals electrically connecting to the first and second connecting parts, respectively. The first and second connecting parts also electrically connect to the anode and cathode of the wires. Therefore, when an electrical signal is sent from the wire to the first connecting part, the filter provides the functions of filtering noises for stabilizing voltage.

    摘要: An intrinsic safe in-line adaptor with an integrated capacitive barrier for connecting a wireless module with an antenna. The in-line adaptor (e.g., N-type to N-type) can be designed to include an intrinsic safe circuit and the integrated capacitive barrier. The intrinsic safe circuit further includes a multi-layer PCB and the PCB can be potted and sealed with a mechanical metal casing. The intrinsic safe capacitive barrier can be integrated with a coaxial connector and mounted as part of a flameproof enclosure to meet an explosion safety standard and an intrinsic safety requirement. The mechanical metal casing can be isolated by the enclosure (e.g., rubber) to meet isolation requirements. The wireless module can be directly connected with the antenna utilizing the in-line adaptor via the coaxial connector and without any specific cable assembly.

    摘要: A device for protecting a radio frequency transmission line from transient voltages includes an inner conductor for transmitting communication signals of a desired frequency band and a grounded, coaxial outer conductor electrically insulated from the inner conductor by a pair of annular insulators. As one feature of the invention, a tap conductor for discharging transient voltages carried by the inner conductor that fall outside the desired frequency band is coupled at one end to the inner conductor through a press-fit connection. As another feature of the invention, a pair of high-quality contacts are mounted onto opposite ends of the outer conductor and serve, together with the inner conductor, as the only electrical contact surfaces for the protective device that transmit the desired communication signals. As another feature of the invention, each insulator has a constant outer diameter along the entirety of its length and a variable inner diameter.

    摘要: An improved surge protection for protecting an electronic device is disclosed, the device having a closed casing with walls made of a non-conducting material and being internally coated with a thin metallic layer. The device also has at least one connector, being arranged in an opening in the walls and including a connector body, at least a portion of which projects outwardly from the wall and which accommodates an internal coupling device, to which a transmission cable, including a central conductor and an outer shield conductor, is connectable. According to the invention, the connector body is also made of a non-conducting material and strong currents, being present at a conducting protection sleeve, are diverted by at least one conducting diversion member to at least one metallic structure, being in permanent electric contact with ground and having a high capacity of conducting strong currents. In use, the at least one conducting diversion member is in electrical contact with the protection sleeve, and extends radially outwardly from the protection sleeve, through the connector body, to the at least one metallic structure.

    摘要: A protective device for transmitting electromagnetic signals of a desired frequency band from a source to a load comprises an outer conductor, an inner conductor extending coaxially within the outer conductor and a quarter wavelength shunt conductor. A radio frequency impedance control (RFIC) tube is used to maintain the proper transmission line impedance for the device. The shunt conductor is connected, at one end, to the inner conductor and extends along a multi-curved path through an opening in the RFIC tube and wraps around the RFIC tube in at least one plane. The other end of the stub is connected to the outer conductor either directly or indirectly by means of distributed capacitance through a dielectric insulator. A plurality of gas discharge tubes may be coupled to the shunt conductor to shunt undesired voltages. In use, the inner conductor serves as the transmission line, the outer conductor serves as the return path and the quarter wavelength shunt conductor serves as an inductor for filtering out electromagnetic energy which falls outside the desired frequency band.
