    摘要： A method of joining the interfacing ends of cables, one to another, wherein each comprises a plurality of conductor strands, comprising (i) providing each of the ends with an enlarged terminal portion of greater diameter than the cable adjacent the end, (ii) inserting the ends into a connecting tube having an outer layer of an explosive charge, and (iii) detonating the explosive layer so as to compress the connecting tube around the conductor strands. The method offers a cheaper, faster and simpler method of joining a bundle of wires and the like than prior art methods.

    摘要： A device coupler of impact to connect aerial handles of electric energy is disclosed, which is the kind that comprises a set of copier with accessories brace for support and connectors parts setting to be applied into the power system between the electrical cables, the copier is made up by a piston with a breech that also has a cover breech provided with a gunpowder cartridge shot needle to be set in the interior of the breech. The improvements are characterized because there's a breech's cover (13) with a shot inner device powered by a trigger (13a), this breech's cover (13) will be adapted for a quick hitch of the breech (12) set in the posterior end (10a) of the copier (10), the latter has a impact piston (11) provided with a radial handle (15) of retention for the return of the piston back-impact (11); in the copier (10) it's also foreseen a radial window (12a) for the liberation of the explosion's gases.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a tool (1) for application of wedge type electrical connectors (2) to conductors (3) of electrical distribution networks. The tool (1) is fired by a powder charge loaded in commercial metallic cartridges 22 caliber which are loaded with different types of powder charge for the proper application of different sizes of wedge type connectors which can be applied by the tool (1) of the present application.The tool (1) for application of connectors (2) of the present invention is basically comprised of two pieces (7,8). One of the pieces being an elongated body called a coupling (7) and the other one a front piece (8) comprised of a coupling cover (9) and a firing cover (10).The tool (1) of the present invention further is provided with a mechanical device (13), that is a lock device, positioned in the frontal portion of the coupling (7) of the tool (1). The mechanical device (18) holds the ram (11) pressed against the applied connector after firing a cartridge (4).

    摘要： A tool for securing a connector on a conductor using an explosive charge includes a first tool member and a second tool member movably mounted on the first tool member. A breech chamber is defined in at least one of the first and second tool members. The breech chamber is adapted to receive the explosive charge. A breech opening is defined in at least one of the first and second tool members and communicates with the breech chamber. A drive member is provided. The tool is adapted to forcibly move the drive member responsive to an explosion of the explosive charge in the breech chamber. The second tool member is movable between a closed position, wherein the breech opening is closed, and an open position, wherein the breech opening is open to allow loading and unloading of the explosive charge into and from the breech chamber, by sliding the second tool member relative to the first tool member along a slide axis and additionally pivoting the second tool member relative to the first tool member about a pivot axis transverse to the slide axis.
