摘要: Methods and apparatus for reducing and/or canceling signal interference between receiver and transmitter components of a wireless communications device are described. The methods and apparatus are well suited for use in a wide range of devices including user equipment devices such as cell phones as well as in network equipment such a base stations. Opto-mechanical devices are used in some embodiments as part of an apparatus which performs interference cancelation on RF (Radio Frequency) signals.

摘要: A modular electromagnetic antenna assembly configured for securement to a structure is provided. The assembly includes an antenna, a radio, and a base. The base has a bracket securable to the structure and the base has at least one feed. The radio and base together form a waveguide that transmits radio waves between the radio and the antenna. The radio is removably secured to the base so as to form a removable mechanical connection to the base and a removable communication connection with the at least one feed through the base.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a communication repeater system includes a master station device and radio frequency units. The radio frequency unite each convert a signal from each of base station system into an optical digital signal for transmission to the master station device. The base station systems establish communication by time division duplex scheme. The communication repeater system repeats communication between a mobile communication terminal device and each base station system via a corresponding one of slave station devices, and includes a detector that detects each of transmission/reception switching timings between the master station device and each of the radio frequency units, a setter that sets, as reference transmission/reception switching timing, a latest one of the transmission/reception switching timings of the radio frequency unit as candidates of reference transmission/reception switching timing, and a corrector that corrects variation in the transmission/reception switching timings according to the reference transmission/reception switching timing.

摘要: Automated control of simulcast ratios based on network traffic data provides efficient network capacity management. In one aspect, a remote switching matrix can be utilized at a venue to couple remote transceiver units (RTUs) with different antenna ports, for example, of one or more multi-beam antennas deployed at the venue. A simulcast ratio that can be utilized to support traffic demand at the venue can be determined and implemented by creating dynamic connections between the RTUs and the antenna ports. In one aspect, the simulcast ratio can be modified based on changes in network traffic at the venue that are monitored via self-organizing network devices. In addition, one or more antenna beams of the multi-beam antennas are remotely steered or rotated based on a location of the traffic.

摘要: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a transmission device that includes a transmitter that generates a first electromagnetic wave to convey data, the first electromagnetic wave having at least one carrier frequency and corresponding wavelength. A coupler couples the first electromagnetic wave to a transmission medium having at least one inner portion surrounded by a dielectric material, the dielectric material having an outer surface and a corresponding circumference, wherein the coupling of the first electromagnetic wave to the transmission medium forms a second electromagnetic wave that is guided to propagate along the outer surface of the dielectric material via at least one guided-wave mode that can include an asymmetric mode, wherein the at least one carrier frequency is within a microwave or millimeter-wave frequency band and wherein the at least one corresponding wavelength is less than the circumference of the transmission medium. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: Embodiments relate to providing simultaneous digital and analog services in optical fiber-based distributed radio frequency (RF) antenna systems (DASs), and related components and methods. A multiplex switch unit associated with a head-end unit of a DAS can be configured to receive a plurality of analog and digital downlink signals from one or more sources, such as a service matrix unit, and to assign each downlink signal to be transmitted to one or more remote units of the DAS. In one example, when two or more downlink signals are assigned to be transmitted to the same remote unit, a wave division multiplexer/demultiplexer associated with the multiplex switch unit can be configured to wave division multiplex the component downlink signals into a combined downlink signal for remote side transmission and to demultiplex received combined uplink signals into their component uplink signals for head-end side transmission.
