    摘要: Systems and methods relating to suppressing interference during cell detection are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless device to perform cell detection comprises training one or more adaptive filters to spatially filter transmissions from one or more perceived directions of one or more sources of unknown interference and performing cell detection using the one or more adaptive filters to spatially filter transmissions from the one or more perceived directions of the one or more sources of the unknown interference. In this manner, cell detection in the presence of the unknown interference is improved.

    摘要: A code division multiple access communication system has a base station with a plurality of transmitting antennas. From each transmitting antenna of the base station, a pilot signal is transmitted having a different chip sequence than the other transmitting antenna. At a user equipment, the transmitted pilot signals are received from each transmitting antenna. A weight adjustment is derived in response to the received transmitted pilot signals. The user equipment transmits the weight adjustment to the base station. The transmitted weight adjustment is received from the user equipment. A data signal is processed to produce a plurality of versions of the data signal. At least a portion of each processed data signal has a different chip sequence than the other processed data signal version. At least one processed data signal version is weighted by a weight value adjusted in response to the received transmitted weight adjustment. From each transmitting antenna, a different one of the data signal versions is transmitted and the transmitted data signal versions are received at the user equipment.

    摘要: This invention teaches to the details of an interference suppressing receiver for suppressing intra-cell and inter-cell interference in coded, multiple-access, spread spectrum transmissions that propagate through frequency selective communication channels to a multiplicity of receive antennas. The receiver is designed or adapted through the repeated use of symbol-estimate weighting, subtractive suppression with a stabilizing step-size, and mixed-decision symbol estimates. Receiver embodiments may be designed, adapted, and implemented explicitly in software or programmed hardware, or implicitly in standard RAKE-based hardware either within the RAKE (i.e., at the finger level) or outside the RAKE (i.e., at the user or subchannel symbol level). Embodiments may be employed in user equipment on the forward link or in a base station on the reverse link. It may be adapted to general signal processing applications where a signal is to be extracted from interference.

    摘要: An interface including filter modules, receiver modules, and a summer. The filter modules are configured to receive from multiple antennas multipath components of a signal as transmitted to the interface. Each of the filter modules is configured to (i) receive corresponding ones of the multipath components of the signal as received at a respective one of the antennas, and (ii) according to a wireless communication protocol standard, filter the signal as received at the respective one of the antennas to generate a filtered signal. The wireless communication protocol standard is designed for a receiver having only a single antenna for receiving signals. The receiver modules are configured to respectively receive the filtered signals. Each of the receiver modules is configured to combine the multipath components in the respective filtered signal to generate an output signal. The summer is configured to sum the output signals.
