    摘要: The subject disclosure is directed towards a technology by which computing devices such as a phone and a personal computer may reliably communicate internet protocol (IP)-based network data to one another via an unreliable point-to-point data transfer mechanism such as a USB connection. To this end, each computing device includes a bi-directional proxy component (e.g., a proxy and reliable transfer tunnel), that processes network data into packets for transmission over the point-to-point connection, and processes received packets into internet protocol (IP)-based network data for a network connection. Also described are an acknowledgement and sequence number-based mechanism that ensures reliable point-to-point data transfers, and a flow control mechanism that prevents a recipient from receiving more data than it can handle until ready.

    摘要: Systems and methods for performing a method for reducing power consumption in MoCA devices that are connected via a coax network are provided. One method according to the invention includes, in a home network having a plurality of network modules, one of said plurality of network modules being a network controller, each of said plurality of network modules being connected to a coax backbone, communicating over the coax backbone between the plurality of network modules. The method further includes using the master module to receive requests sent over the coax backbone from the plurality of network modules for bandwidth to transmit bursts. The master module may establish an order of transmission opportunities for the plurality of network modules to follow when transmitting bursts directly to other network modules via the coax backbone. The method may also include using the master module to toggle each of the networked modules between a running power state and a standby power state. The standby power state may include an active mode and an idle mode. In the active mode, a networked node is configured to transmit and/or receive packets of information. In the idle mode, the networked node is configured to maintain a link to the network while powering down a portion of the circuit blocks, thereby reducing power consumption of the networked node.

The method comprises: an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) instructing an Optical Network Unit (ONU) to create or delete a PPPoE management object instance and associate the PPPoE management object instance with an IP host config data management object instance; and the ONU creating the PPPoE management object instance according to the creation instruction from the OLT, and turning on a PPPoE function switch in the IP host config data management object instance; or the ONU deleting the PPPoE management object instance according to the deletion instruction from the OLT, and turning of the PPPoE function switch in the IP host config data management object instance. The disclosure also discloses a GPON system. With the disclosure, the problem that the existing GPON system cannot support accessing in a manner of PPPoE dial-up is solved, and the PPPoE scenario requirements are met.

    摘要: Techniques for recovering from hierarchical virtual private LAN service (HVPLS) hub connectivity failure with a dynamic spoke pseudowire. According to one embodiment of the invention, a provider edge (PE) network element in the HVPLS hub monitors for a failure of HVPLS hub connectivity failure and reuses an HVPLS spoke connectivity failure recovery mechanism in an MTU by fabricating failure of one or more spoke facing connectivity elements coupling the MTU with the PE network element causing the MTU to transition to a secondary PE network element in the HVPLS hub. In addition, the PE network element establishes a dynamic spoke pseudowire for each virtual instance affected with the MTU to restore HVPLS hub connectivity for that PE network element.
