摘要: Systems and techniques are provided for a resource distribution system. Selected resource paths in a resource transfer network may be monitored. A quantity of an intermediate resource type to transfer into resource pools in the resource transfer network may be determined. Each of the resource pools may be associated with a leg that can be part of a route with two legs for one or more of the selected resource paths. Instructions decrementing a register in a repository resource pool by the determined quantities of the intermediate resource type to be transferred into the resource pools in the resource transfer network and incrementing a register in each of the resource pools in the resource transfer network by the determined quantity of the intermediate resource type to be transferred into that resource pool when the determined quantity is greater than zero may be generated and caused to be executed.

摘要: Techniques are described for scaling a group of computing resources. A computing resource service receives a scaling policy for use in scaling the group of computing resources. The scaling policy specifies a target level for a resource utilization metric and magnitude-based changes to the group. The computing resource service receives information about a magnitude of a measurement for the resource utilization metric. The computing resource service determines, based at least in part on the scaling policy, one or more changes for the group and initiates the one or more changes in the group.

摘要: Allowing a subscriber to modify a data transfer rate or available bandwidth associated with an Internet subscription tier for a selected or predetermined time period is provided. Upon receiving an indication of a selection to decrease an allowed amount of bandwidth or to boost or increase a data transfer rate to a next available service tier, a request may be sent to a gateway device associated with the subscriber to override firmware on the gateway device to restrict access to an amount of bandwidth or to allow access to additional bandwidth respectively.

摘要: Apparatus and method for providing unique device identification values for a network accessible device. In accordance with some embodiments, a unique device identifier value is generated in response to a data exchange operation with a network accessible device. The identifier value is subsequently transmitted by the device as a unique device identifier value in conjunction with the transmitting of a request for a subsequent data exchange operation with the device.

摘要: In one embodiment, a social networking system maintains a moving average of the number of connection problems, including socket timeouts and failed uploads, per client in a geographic area to determine whether the wireless data network serving the geographic area is overloaded. In response to detecting a network overload, the social networking system may transmit an instruction to the clients in the particular geographic area to enter one of a plurality of traffic throttling modes. In particular embodiments, the social networking system maintains a historical log of network overload conditions, and uses the historical log to generate an estimate of the wireless network capacity serving a geographic area. Thus, the social networking system may preemptively transmit instructions to clients to enter a bandwidth-conservation mode when the estimated traffic demand exceeds the estimated capacity for a particular geographic region.

摘要: An ingress node in a network, comprising a receiver configured to receive a first request for a temporal label switched path (LSP) in the network, wherein the first request indicates a network constraint and a scheduled time interval having a predetermined start time and a predetermined end time for the temporal LSP to carry traffic, a processor coupled to the receiver and configured to compute a path in the network for the temporal LSP, wherein the path satisfies the network constraint in the scheduled time interval, and reserve a network resource for use during the scheduled time interval for the temporal LSP in advance of the predetermined start time, and a transmitter coupled to the processor and configured to send a path request message to the next hop node to initiate set up of the temporal LSP in the network.
