    摘要: A surge protector for protecting telecommunications related equipment and other associated sensitive electrical components from over-voltage transient occurring on tip/ring conductors of telecommunication lines coupled thereto includes a printed circuit board and a plurality of surge protection circuits being mounted on the printed circuit board. Each of the plurality of surge protection circuits includes a first set of steering diodes and a second set of steering diodes. A common transient voltage clamping device has a first end connected to a first conductor lead and a second end connected to a second conductor lead so as to be shared by the plurality of surge protection circuits. A common pair of series-connected rectifier diodes has a first end also connected to the first conductor lead and a second end also connected to the second conductor lead so as to be shared by the plurality of surge protection circuits.

    摘要: The invention relates to a surge protection device comprising at least one surge protection unit, consisting of a substantially U-shaped socket part and a plug part which can be fixed in the socket part and which receives a surge protection means. Insulated electric conductors on or in the socket part are contacted by means of vampire taps or displacing terminals. The surge protection device also comprises openings or perforations formed in the socket part for receiving conductors. According to the invention, the openings are selectively designed so that the electric conductors are inserted into or through the openings, and the openings are exposed in a socket part region which can be covered by the socket part such that cutting surfaces located on the base of the plug part penetrate the conductor insulation during the plug-in process and directly contact the respective conductor.

    摘要: A connection apparatus circuit includes an isolation transformer, an impedance matching network, a high-voltage capacitor and a first high-voltage surge protector. The isolation transformer has a first coil and a second coil, wherein the first coil has a first terminal, a second terminal and a center tap. The impedance matching network is coupled between the center tap and a relay terminal. The high-voltage capacitor is coupled between the relay terminal and a ground terminal. The first high-voltage surge protector is coupled between the relay terminal and the ground terminal. When a high-voltage surge exceeds a default value between the first terminal or the second terminal and the ground terminal, the first high-voltage surge protector is conducted to clamp current on the impedance matching network.

    摘要: A protection circuit provides transient protection to a solid state circuit of a line interface for wired telecommunications media at a voltage level below the power supply of the solid state circuit and prevents transient currents from entering the power supply distribution where they might cause damage to the protected interface and other circuits. The protection circuit uses a MOSFET, the gate of which is provided with a bias derived from a power supply of the solid state circuit being protected. The bias causes the MOSFET to be always on such that the MOSFET provides an immediate and high transconductance path to ground for transient currents from the line interface.

    摘要: Provided is an apparatus for protecting a multi-function product from surge voltage, the multi-function product including a public telephone network connection unit which receives one of a ring signal, a voice signal, and a fax signal and transmits the signal via first and second signal lines and an external apparatus connection unit which is connected to an external apparatus, receives a data signal from the external apparatus, and transmits the data signal via the first and second signal lines, the apparatus including: a first surge voltage cut off device having first and second terminals, wherein the first terminal is connected to the first signal line and the second terminal is connected to the second signal line; a second surge voltage cut off device having first and second terminals, wherein the first terminal is connected to the first signal line; a switching unit having a first terminal connected to the second signal line and a second terminal connected to one of a first contact point connected to the external apparatus connection unit and a second contact point connected to the second terminal of the second surge voltage cut off device; and a control unit which senses a signal received from the multi-function product and controls the second terminal of the switching unit to be switched between one of the first contact point and the second contact point.
