    摘要: The method and a device determine a parameter that characterizes a number of spare positions to be used for cancelling the crosstalk of lines joining a digital subscriber line vectoring group. The vectoring includes cancelling the crosstalk caused by a maximum number of lines of the vectoring group and reserving the number of spare positions. In order to provide a method and a device for determining a number of spare positions such that the vectoring group operates efficiently, the method includes determining a residual crosstalk metric that depends on a residual crosstalk between at least two subscriber lines of the vectoring group; and determining the parameter that characterizes the number of spare positions depending on the at least one residual crosstalk metric by successively modifying the parameter until the residual crosstalk metric fulfills a termination condition.

    摘要: A surge protection circuit having an open circuit voltage surge protector, such as a gas discharge tube (GDT), a closed circuit current surge protector, such as a thermistor, and a thyristor. The GDT has a breakdown voltage that is at least a first defined amount higher than an anticipated highest peak voltage. The thermistor has a series resistance associated with a series resistance of electrical equipment being protected and a breakdown voltage that is at least a second defined amount higher than an impulse voltage (voltage required to excite the GDT based on the breakdown voltage) for the GDT. The thyristor has a rated peak current at least a third defined amount greater than a peak current for the thermistor.

    摘要: Systems and methods for providing voice equalization are provided. In exemplary embodiments, acoustic signals are received from both a near-end and a far-end environment. A power spectrum estimate for the far-end signal and a noise estimate based on the near-end signal are determined. A voice equalization mask based on the power spectrum estimate of the far-end signal and the noise estimate based on the near-end signal is generated and applied to the far-end signal to obtain a modified signal. The modified signal may then be dynamically processed to obtain an enhanced audio signal. The enhanced audio signal is then output.
