摘要： A method and system are provided for forwarding telephone calls, facsimile transmissions and electronic messages to a single forwarding telephone number. The telephone calls, fax transmissions and electronic messages are first forwarded to a central forwarding repository by the forwarding party where the fax transmissions, and messages are converted to audio formats. Forwarded telephone calls and audio formatted versions of the fax transmissions and electronic messages are then forwarded directly to a designated forwarding number. If the forwarding party answers at the forwarding number, she will receive forwarded calls, and the audio formatted versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages will be played to her over her telephone. If the forwarding party does not answer the forwarded call, she subsequently may retrieve saved telephone calls, saved telephone messages and saved audio versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages from the central forwarding repository.

摘要： There are provided a communication apparatus capable of performing voice communication via an IP network, and performing FAX communication using a deemed voice, and a method of controlling the same. At the time of reception of an incoming call, the apparatus determines whether an incoming voice communication call or digital data has been received. If it is determined that the incoming voice communication call has been received and there is an already connected voice communication section, the SLIC superimposes a tone of a notification of the incoming call during voice communication on a voice during voice communication. When the telephone instructs to switch to the incoming call, the apparatus establishes a new session for the incoming call, and controls the selector to connect the already connected voice communication session to the digital modem to send a holding tone.

The control module that determines whether an incoming telephone call from a telephone number to a telephone line is a facsimile call or a voice call and whether facsimile calls are authorized to be routed to the telephone line. When the incoming telephone call is a voice call, the control module instructs a switch to route the incoming telephone call to the telephone line. When the incoming telephone call is a voice call, the control module instructs the switch to route the incoming telephone call to the telephone line when facsimile calls are authorized, and to deny routing the incoming telephone call to the telephone line when facsimile calls are not authorized.

摘要： A control section attaches a reprinting data mark to FAX image data received in a “Replace Toner” state and then stores the data. Then, a user is prompted to check whether an image of the FAX image data with the reprinting data mark printed most recently has been outputted appropriately. In case of appropriate output, all the FAX image data pieces with the reprinting data marks stored in a storage section are deleted. In contrast, in case of inappropriate output, the FAX image data is stored intact as reprinting data.

摘要： A telephone switching device which includes a detector for identifying a call waiting (CW) signal when the incoming telephone line is in use. The detector device automatically switches the incoming telephone line to the second call and monitors for additional coded function signals such as a facsimile machine calling (CNG) signal indicating that a data transmission is desired. Appropriate switching functions are provided to connect attached telephony data devices for receiving the incoming data transmission. A microprocessor is used for receiving various function signals and performing the switching of the telephone line and attached apparatus. This allows the reception of an incoming data transmission on a single telephone line while the line is already in use. A voice message can be provided before the switching of the telephone line in response to the CW signal warning the first caller of the impending switch. Provisions are included for verifying incoming function signals and time delay sequences are incorporated for the attached data apparatus to be initiated and receive the incoming data transmission.

摘要： A facsimile receives a facsimile message even if an external telephone connected to the facsimile assumes a line-off status. The facsimile checks a calling tone transmitted from the calling facsimile while the external telephone is in a line-on status. It is determined whether the external telephone assumes a line-off status before the calling tone is completely checked. If the external telephone assumes the line-off status before the calling tone is completely checked, the facsimile displays a message advising of reception of a facsimile call, and receives the facsimile message transmitted from the calling facsimile if a user accepts reception of the facsimile message.
