    摘要: A combined navigational and display system for a person including a helmet carrying apparatus for communication, storage and processing of information and for the visual display of information. The navigational system is based on an electromagnetic field generated at sufficiently high frequency preferably by intermediate reference stations. Preferably, the display is part of a flip-up/down visor stereographically showing a local map generated by an information storage device, and the display shows the location of the person on the map as well as the coordinates of that location on the map. The same system can be used by a person in a vehicle for navigational systems using lower carrier frequencies, the antenna and all communication and information storage and processing equipment being mounted on the vehicle and a wireless link being provided between the equipment mounted in the vehicle and the display apparatus mounted in the helmet or the equipment transmits directly to a vehicle mounted display.

    摘要: A stereoscopic fluoroscope apparatus includes a pair of spaced x-ray tubes mounted on a support opposite a respective pair of x-ray image intensifiers having a pair of video cameras coupled thereto. The x-ray tubes and image intensifiers are positioned to form a stereoscopic pair of fluorescent images which are converted to video signals by the cameras. The cameras are connected to a head worn video stereoscopic display including miniature right and left video display devices therein for stereoscopic viewing of the images produced by irradiating a target of examination. The apparatus includes provisions for selectively routing the video signals representing the x-ray images to external signal receivers such as remote video monitors, video recorders, or computers and for routing external video signals to the stereoscopic display unit for displaying the images represented thereby.

    摘要: A shutter control mechanism for 3-D glasses includes a control circuit (28) associated with the glasses, the glasses having 3-D lenses (20) and (22). The control circuitry (28) receives commands from a control transmitter (16) in the form of synchronization pulses and command signals. The command signals are operable to vary the operating parameters of the lenses (20) and (22). Specifically, the duty cycle of the left lens (22) and the right lens (20) are varied such that they can either be at a fifty percent duty cycle, greater than a fifty percent duty cycle or less than a fifty percent duty cycle, wherein the amount of time that each of the lenses is on can be controlled for a given frame length.

    摘要: A portable television playback system includes a video source unit, video processing circuitry, audio processing circuitry, and a stereo viewing and sound unit. The video source unit is a television receiver, a small videocassette tape cartridge player, or a stereo optical video disc player. The viewing and sound unit has stereoscopic and stereophonic capabilities and is generally a head worn unit having right and left image display devices and right and left earphones. The video and audio processing circuits receive the signals from the video source unit and parallel the video and audio signals to drive the stereo output devices if the source is a television receiver or a videocassette tape player or perform demultiplexing functions to separate the right and left video and audio signals from the right and left multiplexed video/audio signals. The video source unit and the video and audio processing circuits are packaged in a single portable case which may be connected to the head worn viewing and sound unit by an appropriate cable for use.

    摘要: A stereoscopic remote viewing system includes a pair of spaced apart cameras mounted on a platform which is movable along a semicircular support track for azimuth aiming of the cameras. The track is pivotable about a diametric axis for elevation aiming of the cameras. The cameras are connected through selection switches to a head worn video display unit having a pair of cathode ray tubes (CRT's) mounted therein. Lenses and mirrors are positioned to project the images reproduced by the CRT's indirectly into the eyes of a viewer. A digital computer is connected through the selection switches and is employed for the storage and retrieval of texts and graphic information related to the operations viewed with the system.

    摘要: Apparatus is disclosed for transmitting video signals which produce images that can be viewed comfortably as two-dimensional images but when viewed through special glasses appear to be three dimensional. An illusion of depth is created for scenes including a moving object by combining one chrominance component of a past field with the luminance component of the current field. By "registering" the moving objects of the past and current fields, the background (stationary) objects of the past and current fields are displaced slightly relative to each other. These displaced images appear in complementary colors and can be viewed normally if the displacement is slight, with an unobjectionable color fringe. When viewed through appropriately filtered glasses, the displaced images create a three dimensional illusion.
