Abstract: One embodiment provides a computer-implemented method that includes acquiring, via at least one microphone, sound pressure data from a loudspeaker in a room. The sound pressure data is input into an artificial intelligence (AI) model. The AI model automatically estimates, without user interaction, at least one of energy average (EA) in a listening area or total sound power (TSP) produced by the loudspeaker. The AI model is trained prior to automatically estimating the at least one of the EA in the listening area or the TSP produced by the loudspeaker.

Abstract: A system and method are described herein for generating a visual indicator in a loudspeaker to identify a location of the loudspeaker in a room, the system and method comprising: at least two loudspeaker assemblies, each of which are adapted to receive digitally encoded audio signals and other digital signals, each of the at least two loudspeaker assemblies having a unique digital address and each comprising at least one loudspeaker; at least one processor communicatively coupled to each of the at least two loudspeaker assemblies; an input device communicatively coupled to the at least one processor; and a memory operatively connected with the at least one processor, wherein the memory stores computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to execute a method that comprises: receiving an input from the input device at the at least one processor, the input indicating which one of the at least two loudspeaker assemblies to identify a location thereof; generating a message to be transmitted to the indicated loudspeaker assembly, wherein the message contains commands and data to generate a visual indicator in the indicated loudspeaker assembly; transmitting the message to the indicated loudspeaker assembly; and generating the visual indicator according to the message at the indicated loudspeaker assembly.

Abstract: Techniques for determining the directional frequency response of an arrangement of transducer elements are disclosed. In an example, a method includes providing a simulation of locations of the transducer elements, in the spatial domain; providing a beamforming direction and a frequency range; converting the simulation of locations from the spatial domain into corresponding frequency response values in a spatial frequency domain, such that, for each frequency of a plurality of frequencies in the frequency range, a spatial frequency contour is defined, each of the spatial frequency contours intersecting at the origin; determining the frequency response by applying a transformation to the frequency response values for the provided beamforming direction and frequency range and translating the spatial frequency domain into a modified frequency domain; and outputting the frequency response.

Abstract: A method and multimedia device for calibrating audio delays of an audio system with wireless loudspeakers are disclosed. The method allows to emulate surround or 3D sound systems with spatially distributed wireless loudspeakers. A first probe signal for audio playback, having a first audio pattern, is transmitted by a loudspeaker. A signal quality is determined by listening to an acoustic response of the loudspeaker to the first probe signal. A second audio pattern is determined by modifying the first audio pattern based on the signal quality. A second probe signal for audio playback having the second audio pattern is transmitted by the loudspeaker. An audio delay compensation is then determined for the loudspeaker based on a measure of an audio delay between the transmitted second probe signal and an acoustic response of the loudspeaker in response to the second probe signal.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a method comprising optimizing one or more stimuli parameters by applying machine learning to training data. The method further comprises determining, based on the one or more optimized stimuli parameters, stimuli for simultaneously exciting a plurality of speakers within a spatial area. The stimuli has a shortest possible duration that is accurate for simultaneous deconvolution of a plurality of impulse responses of the plurality of speakers. The method further comprises simultaneously exciting the plurality of speakers by providing the stimuli to the plurality of speakers at the same time for reproduction. The method further comprises simultaneously deconvolving the plurality of impulse responses based on the stimuli and one or more measurements of sound recorded during the reproduction and arriving at one or more microphones within the spatial area.

Abstract: An auditory guidance system is installed along a predefined pathway between an initial location and a target location.
