摘要: A user equipment (2) has an ability to operate according to one or more spectrum emission requirement capability values (14) in a wireless communications network having at least a first serving cell (4). A message (6) is received at the user equipment (2) from the first serving cell (4) comprising a first indicator representing a first band designation (8), a second indicator representing a spectrum emission requirement value (10), and at least one additional indicator representing at least one additional spectrum emission requirement value (12), both the first and additional indicators relating to the first band designation. The user equipment (2) performs a comparison of the first and additional spectrum emission requirement values (10, 12) with the one or more spectrum emission requirement capability values (14) and determines a behaviour of the user equipment (2) in relation to the first serving cell (4) in dependence on the comparison.

摘要: When detecting occurrence of an event for transmitting a measurement report of a radio condition of a cell at a frequency set for a base station apparatus, to the base station apparatus (3) communicating with a terminal apparatus (2), the terminal apparatus (2) in a wireless communication system (1) creates a measurement report including information indicating radio conditions of cells at a frequency at which the event occurred and at another different frequency. The base station apparatus (3) controls whether or not to perform handover of the terminal apparatus (2) to another cell, on the basis of the measurement report transmitted from the terminal apparatus (2). Thereby, there is provided a wireless communication system in which a base station apparatus and the terminal apparatus are communicable with each other using multiple frequencies, the wireless communication system being capable of shortening time required for handover.

摘要: Method and apparatus to trigger a handover of a mobile device from a serving cell to a neighbor cell based on signal quality are disclosed. The mobile device measures signal strength and signal quality for the serving cell. When the signal strength exceeds a network-defined threshold and the signal quality falls below a mobile device defined threshold, the mobile device measures at least one neighbor cell. When a neighbor cell exceeds the network-defined threshold for signal strength and also meets the mobile device defined signal quality threshold, the mobile device sends a measurement report to the serving cell to trigger the handover. The measurement report includes modified values that indicate the serving cell does not meet network-defined threshold values and that the neighbor cell outperforms the serving cell.

摘要: This disclosure relates to techniques for a link budget limited UE to improve communications performance with a cellular network. The UE may perform signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) measurements and use these measurements to adjust a received signal power value that is provided to the cellular network as a received signal power measurement. The UE may generate the received signal power value based at least in part on the SINR measurement in order to reduce the likelihood of handover when the UE has good SINR but poor received signal power. The UE may also provide preferred configuration information to the base station which enhances the performance of the UE when link budget limited. The configuration information may specify one or more parameter values designed to provide improved performance for a link budget limited device.

摘要: A method of operating a terminal device to perform measurement event evaluation for measurement reporting in respect of a downlink carrier operating in a wireless telecommunications system. The method comprises determining that measurement event evaluation for the downlink carrier should be undertaken beginning at a start time. Measurements of a parameter, such as a reference signal received power, associated with radio channel conditions for frequency resources used by the downlink carrier are obtained during an evaluation period beginning at the start time. The extent to which the downlink carrier is being transmitted during the evaluation period is also established. Whether or not to send a measurement report to network infrastructure equipment is then evaluated by taking account of both the measurements of the parameter during the evaluation period and the extent to which the downlink carrier is being transmitted during the evaluation period. A measurement report is sent by the terminal device to the network infrastructure equipment depending on the outcome of the evaluation.
