摘要: Illuminating device with optical conductors for escalators or moving walkways. Passive light sources, in an escalator or moving walkway, are mounted at freely selectable illumination points, with the light sources each being connected via a respective glass fiber optical conductor, with an active light source and serve to illuminate a movable stair or pallet belt with the thus received light via a respective integrated optical system, with the active light source being easily accessible by being centrally arranged and containing a lamp, the light thereof being fed into the discrete optical conductors at the end face in the optical conductor terminal, and these optical conductors together forming a fiber-optical light transmission network from the active light source to the passive light sources and being combined at each of both sides of the movable stair belt into a respective strand-shaped optical conductor bundle with the bundles being laid into the pedestal channels via branches thereof, with passive light sources being received in light outlets of the inward balustrade sides, the pedestal plates, the outer balustrade cover strips or the inner balustrade cover strips.

摘要: The aim of the invention is to make person conveying systems more simple and less expensive. Said aim is achieved by equipping a person conveying system with a synchronous linear motor comprising a rack-shaped, permanent magnet-less secondary part (S) for driving purposes while the primary part of the synchronous linear motor is fixed to the conveying device (K) in or on which persons can be conveyed. If the person conveying system is embodied as a magnetic levitation railway, the synchronous linear motor makes it possible to conserve a significant amount of energy as opposed to an asynchronous linear motor as the permanent magnets provide a certain basic magnetic flux that can be used for supporting the railway car and driving the same in the direction of travel.

摘要: An escalator is provided with a caliper disc brake for stopping movement of the steps in cases of emergency. The disc is mounted on the main drive sprocket shaft, and the caliper is normally held away from the disc. When power is removed from the drive, the caliper is set on the disc to stop further movement of the steps. The braking torque of the brake assembly is adjustable to allow use of one basic assembly with escalators having different rises. The adjustment is accomplished by moving the center of gravity of the brake pads toward or away from the pivot axis of the brake lever. The brake can also be finely tuned at installation to provide an optimum stopping distance and time so that a too abrupt stop is avoided.

摘要: A portable escalator for use in a structure, such as a cargo hold of large ships, comprising a number of step means pivotally mounted one after the other on a pair of endless chain members each entrained about two sprocket wheels which are rotatably mounted on a main frame of the escalator respectively at each end thereof. Either one of the two sprocket wheels is operatively connected to a suitable actuating power source. Each of step means includes a desired number of crescent-shaped vertical plates spaced one from each other similarly to comb teeth so as to eliminate the need of feathering action of each step means during operation even when the portable escalator is used at different inclinations.
