    摘要: An oil well being subjected to an acid stimulation may be treated with a corrosion inhibitor including an Ammonium Iodide Ion Source, a first carbonyl containing compound having a general formula: and a second carbonyl containing compound having the general formula: wherein R1 is an alkyl or aromatic group, R2 is a hydrogen, alkyl or aromatic group, and R3 is a hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbons; and wherein the alkyl or aromatic groups of R1, R2, or R3 may further comprise a nitrogen, phosphorous, halogen or second oxygen moiety; and wherein the oil well being treated has zone being treated at a temperature of from about 90 to about 500° F.

    摘要: Corrosive effects arising during oilfield treatment applications are inhibited and/or prevented by introducing into an oil or gas well at least one compound of formula I: wherein: R1 is independently H, —[—CnH2nO—]a—H, or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 24 carbon atoms; R2 is independently H or —[—CnH2nO—]b—H, R3 is independently —[—CH2]c—, or —CdH2d—[—OCnH2n—]e—, R4 is independently H or —[—CnH2nO—]f—H, R5 is independently H or —[—CnH2nO—]g—H, a is from about 1 to about 8; b+f+g is between 0 to about 30; c is from about 1 to 6; d is from about 1 to 6; e is from about 1 to about 8; and n is 2 or 3. Such corrosive effects are especially inhibited in the treatment of sour wells where H2S corrosion is a potential problem as well as conduits used during the treatment of subterranean formations.

    摘要: A method for removing or dissolving calcareous materials in a subterranean formation or in a wellbore consists of two basic steps. In the first step, an aqueous acid solution is injected into the formation or wellbore. The aqueous acid solution contains between from about 15 to about 99 weight percent of an organic acid selected from formic acid, acetic acid or a mixture of formic acid and acetic acid. Water or brine is then injected into the formation or wellbore. The amount of water or brine injected into the formation or wellbore is an amount sufficient to reduce the concentration of organic acid in the formation or wellbore to no greater than 10 weight percent.

    摘要: An acidizing composition and a method of acidizing a hydrocarbon bearing subterranean formation in the presence of ferric ions are provided. The acidizing composition includes an aqueous mineral acid solution, an electron donor agent and an electron transfer agent, the electron transfer agent being a source of molybdenum ions. When the aqueous mineral acid solution includes hydrochloric acid in an amount greater than approximately 17% by weight, the acidizing composition further includes a supplemental electron transfer agent, the supplemental electron transfer agent being a source of iodide ion or iodine. The electron donor agent and electron transfer agent function together to reduce ferric ion present in the mineral acid solution to ferrous ion which in turn prevents ferric hydroxide and/or free sulfur from precipitating out of the solution and reduces the formation of sludge in crude oil in the formation.

    摘要: An acidizing composition and a method of acidizing a hydrocarbon bearing subterranean formation in the presence of ferric ions are provided. The acidizing composition includes a strong mineral acid solution, an electron donor agent, a primary electron transfer agent and a secondary electron transfer agent. The primary electron transfer agent is a source of rhenium ions. The secondary electron transfer agent is a source of iodide ion or iodine. The electron donor agent and primary and secondary electron transfer agents function together to reduce ferric ion present in the mineral acid solution to ferrous ion which in turn prevents ferric hydroxide and/or free sulfur from precipitating out of the solution and reduces the formation of sludge in crude oil in the formation. The particular electron transfer agents used in connection with the invention function with virtually all known electron donor agents.
