    摘要: The present invention provides a valve that controls a flow of gas or solid objects through a pipe, and particularly a z-valve used in an elevated rail transportation system. The valve includes vanes hinged to a valve stem that fold into a z-shape and retract into the valve body when the valve is open. A valve cap positioned at the top of the valve stem matches the contour of the inner surface of the pipe, allowing unobstructed flow. When the valve is closed, the valve stem is elevated into the interior of the pipe and the valve cap rotates 90° to match the contour at the top, providing a seal. The vanes extend from the z-shape to completely block a cross-section of the pipe, stopping the flow. The flow may be modulated by varying the extension of the vanes to allow a portion of the flow to pass the valve.

    摘要: An improved one-way fluid valve construction is provided. A valve housing (102) includes one or more valve ports (108) and control ports (110). A control member (304) is disposed within the control port (110). The control member (304) is movable within the control port (110) between a first position and a second position. A control rod (302) can extend between the control member (304) and a portion of the valve port (108). A control rod coupling (402) interacts with the control member (304) to cause a rotational or pivotal movement the control rod (302) through a predetermined angular arc in response to movement of the control member (304). A sealing face (404) formed on a second portion of the control rod (302) advantageously forms a seal with an orifice (316) that separates an input side of the valve port (108) from an output side. The seal can be formed when the control rod (302) is in a control rod sealed position. When the control rod (302) is rotated to a control rod unsealed position, the sealing face unseals from the orifice (316).

    摘要: Valve assembly 10 and generally T-shaped fast acting high-output valve 12 suitable to control flow of fluid through base opening 42, wherein valve 12 comprises stem 14 having pivoting end 16 and arm end 18. Two arms 20 are coupled to arm end 18 of stem 14 to form a general T-shape. Arms 20 each have a seating surface 22, a non-seating surface 24, an outer perimeter 26, and an inner perimeter 28. At least one pivoting component 30 is coupled to pivoting end 16, and a force receiving surface 32 is located at least near pivoting end 16 for allowing valve 12 to receive a force thereat and causing an opposite motion at arm end 18. Valve assembly 10 includes valve assembly housing 48, base 38 with at least one valve seat 40 and at least one base opening 42, collector diffuser apparatus 60, and fluid injector 68 with injector opening 70. At least one generally T-shaped valve 12 is pivotably coupled to base 38. Actuator rod 50 and force distributing plate 58 distributes force so that valve 12 is able to pivotably close on valve seat 40 covering base opening 42 and pivotably open from the valve seat 40 exposing base opening 42. Spring component 52 causes valve 12 to be pivotably spring-bias closed on valve seat 40.

    摘要: A fluid-flow apparatus having a damper frame provided with walls forming separate side-by-side flow paths for hot, cold and bypass air. Damper elements are pivotally mounted on shafts and arranged in the flow paths for blocking and unblocking same. Each shaft has a pinion gear mounted thereon for pivotal movement with the shaft and associated damper element. Rack gear segments are provided on a longitudinally slidably mounted carrier bar for engaging the pinion gears in a predetermined sequence which places in a blocked position one of the hot and cold air flow paths whenever the other flow path of that pair is simultaneously in an unblocked position. The bypass air flow path is unblocked when either the hot or cold air flow path is only partially unblocked. Spring or cam elements cooperate with flats on the damper element shaft for releasably retaining them in preselected positions.
