摘要： A substrate for suspension comprises a metallic substrate, an insulating layer formed on the metallic substrate, a conductor layer formed on the insulating layer, and a cover layer covering the conductor layer. The insulating layer and the cover layer are formed from different materials, whose coefficients of hygroscopic expansion are in the range between 3×10−6/% RH and 30×10−6/% RH. The difference between the coefficients of hygroscopic expansion of the two materials is 5×10−6/% RH or less.

摘要： A ceramic substrate material has good thermal conductivity and machinability, which are high enough to apply it to thin-film magnetic heads, and low particle generation. A ceramic substrate material for a thin-film magnetic head includes 25 vol % to 70 vol % of WC and the balance consisting essentially of Al2O3. The WC includes at most 0.1 mass % of a metal, at most 0.5 mass % of oxygen and at most 0.5 mass % of nitrogen. And the WC has a mean particle size of 0.6 μm or less.

摘要： A card activated automated banking machine is operative to conduct transactions for authorized users based on data read from cards through operation of a card reader. The machine includes a deposit accepting device. The deposit accepting device is operative to receive a stack of sheets and to separate each sheet from the stack through operation of a picker. Each sheet is aligned with the sheet path and analyzed by analysis devices including at least one magnetic read head, an imager and/or a validation device. Sheets determined not to have at least one property of a genuine sheet are returned to a user of the machine. Sheets determined to have at least one property of genuine sheets are processed and stored in the machine.
