摘要: The present invention relates to a method for distributing particulate material in a target area. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing in a reservoir particulate material comprising particles to be distributed in a target area, which reservoir is provided with exits, (ii) providing a gas displacer, (iii) generating with the gas displacer a forced gas flow in the blow direction, and iv) directing the particles from the exits in the forced gas flow. The invention further relates to a device for performing the method according to the invention. Further aspects of the invention relate to the use of the device for distributing particulate material, a gas flow modification device, the use of such modification device for modifying the gas flow in a device for distributing particulate material and a kit of parts comprising (a) the gas flow modification device and (b) a device for distributing particulate material.

摘要: A method for preparing a shelf stable spore-containing probiotic alimentary additive is disclosed, the method including providing a liquid slurry including spores from at least one spore-forming probiotic bacterial strain, a saccharide, and a humectant; and pasteurizing the liquid slurry to yield the alimentary additive. The alimentary additive may have a water activity (Aw) of less than about 0.7. The alimentary additive may have a pH from about 2.0 to 9.5. A plurality of the spores may remain in an un-germinated state and uniformly suspended for at least two months after the pasteurizing to yield a shelf stable spore-containing probiotic alimentary additive.

摘要: This invention relates to methods and compositions for providing a benefit to a plant by associating the plant with a beneficial endophyte of the genus Streptomyces, including benefits to a plant derived from a seed or other plant element treated with said endophyte. For example, this invention provides purified endophytes, synthetic combinations comprising endophytes, and methods of making and using the same. In particular, this invention relates to compositions and methods of improving soybean and maize plants.

摘要: Methods and compositions are provided which employ a silencing element that, when ingested by a pest, such as a Coleopteran plant pest or a Diabrotica plant pest, decrease the expression of a target sequence in the pest. In specific embodiments, the decrease in expression of the target sequence controls the pest and thereby the methods and compositions are capable of limiting damage to a plant. The present invention provides various target polynucleotides set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOS: 1-236 or active variants and fragments thereof, wherein a decrease in expression of one or more the sequences in the target pest controls the pest (i.e., has insecticidal activity). Further provided are silencing elements which when ingested by the pest decrease the level of the target polypeptide and thereby control the pest. In specific embodiment, the pest is D. virgifera virgifera, D. barberi, D. speciosa, or D. undecimpunctata howardi. Plants, plant part, bacteria and other host cells comprising the silencing elements or an active variant or fragment thereof of the invention are also provided.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of treating chronic granulomatous disease through Hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation. The method comprises the steps of administering stem cell mobilization agent to human such that the target stem cell population migrates from host niches into the subject's blood. The target stem cells are removed from blood and administering the therapeutic stem cells to human and said therapeutic stem cells are engineered to express gp91phox. The steps are repeated multiple times i.e. at least four times. The mobilization agents used in the invention are granulocyte-colony stimulating factor and AMD3100. The method of HSC transplantation is effective in treatment of chronic granulomatous disease.
