摘要: Catheter device and driving system configured to navigate the catheter through complex narrow tissue openings such as lung bronchi pathway openings of 3 millimeters or less. The device comprises a proximal catheter portion containing a hollow torque shaft, with a distal catheter portion connected to the proximal portion connected to this torque shaft. The distal position of the catheter is controlled by at least one steering cable/tensioning cable arrangement. The system uses processor-controlled actuators that simultaneously rotate the torque shaft and the at least one steering cable/tensioning cable in a 1:1 relationship, while also actuating the steering cable. The catheter is tipped by a tool plate, which can be equipped with various sensors and other instruments and connected to the outside via other conduits.

The scope system includes at least one accessory channel including at least one tubular structure defining an accessory lumen, the at least one accessory channel movably disposed within the lumen of the elongate tube. The scope system also includes a first steerable endoscopic instrument extending through the at least one accessory lumen and including a first distal instrument end that is movable relative to a distal channel end of the at least one accessory channel. The scope system also includes a second steerable endoscopic instrument extending through the at least one accessory lumen and including a second distal instrument end that is movable relative to the distal channel end of the at least one accessory channel.

摘要: A medical system may comprise a flexible elongate device including a flexible body with proximal and distal ends and at least one lumen. The flexible elongate device may also include a support structure coupled with the flexible body. The support structure may include a plurality of sub-elements arranged in series. At least a portion of the sub-elements are configured to spread apart when the flexible body flexes into a pose. The flexible elongate device may also include a stiffening mechanism having at least one stiffening element extending along at least a portion of the flexible body and configured for actuation independent of the support structure. After the flexible body has flexed into the pose, actuation of the stiffening element stiffens the support structure to hold at least a portion of the pose of the flexible body. The stiffening element includes a compression feature to engage the support structure.

摘要: Certain aspects relate to manually and robotically controllable medical instruments. A manually and robotically controllable medical instrument can include an elongated shaft articulable by pull wires. The elongated shaft can be connected to an instrument handle that attaches to an instrument drive mechanism. The instrument handle can include a pulley assembly on which the pull wires can be mounted. Rotation of the pulley assembly can actuate the pull wires to cause articulation of the elongated shaft. The medical instrument also includes a manual drive input connected to the pulley assembly such that manual actuation of the manual drive input causes rotation of the first pulley assembly and a robotic drive input configured to engage with a robotic drive output of the instrument drive mechanism such that rotation of the first robotic drive output causes rotation of the pulley assembly.

The endoscope can further comprise an inner sleeve positioned within the outer sleeve and comprising a working channel. The inner sleeve can comprise one or more extending elements at a distal portion of the inner sleeve, the one or more extending elements being coupled to the first deflecting segment of the outer sleeve. The endoscope can further comprise a tool advanceable through the working channel, wherein advancement of the tool transitions the distal portion of the outer sleeve between a straight profile and a deflected profile.

摘要: Methods and systems for automatic steering of a blind introducer based on images from an independent camera (e.g., a camera of a video laryngoscope) are disclosed. A real time image of a video laryngoscope may be analyzed by a trained ML model to output a classification for the image. The classification may be associated with steering instructions for an introducer. The steering instructions may be provided to the introducer to cause steering of a distal end of the introducer in real time. The trained ML model may be generated by AI or ML training algorithms, based on multiple sets of multiple still-shot training images associated with a finite quantity of classifications.

摘要: An endoscopic system may include an endoscope including a handle and an elongate shaft extending distally therefrom. The handle may include a non-motorized and non-ratcheting actuation mechanism configured to articulate a distal tip portion of the elongate shaft. The distal tip portion may be articulatable in response to a manually applied force exerted upon the actuation mechanism. Removal of the manually applied force may lock the distal tip portion in its then-current configuration. The non-motorized and non-ratcheting actuation mechanism may include a clutch mechanism actuatable in response to an electrical signal generated in response to sensing a user-applied force to the actuating mechanism by a strain gauge.
