摘要: In examples, there is a device for converting ammonia (NH3) in a human breath sample to nitric oxide (NO). The device comprises a tube and a heater. The tube comprises an inlet, an outlet, and a wall defining an internal surface of the tube and an external surface of the tube. The wall comprises substantially the same material along a thickness from the internal surface of the tube to the external surface of the tube. The material is catalytic for conversion of ammonia to nitric oxide. The heater is configured to heat the wall.

摘要: The invention provides a system and method for determining a respiratory effort for a subject. The method comprises obtaining a relaxed signal representing the subject breathing in a relaxed manner and a forced signal representing the subject breathing in a forced manner. A plurality of forced peaks is derived from the forced signal and candidate peaks are selected from the plurality of forced peaks. The candidate peaks are selected based on features of the forced peaks. A user selects a user identified peak from the candidate peaks and thus, a respiratory effort is determined based on the relaxed signal and the user identified peak.

摘要: A method, comprising receiving a time series of patient body signal, determining first and second sliding time windows for the time series; applying an autoregression algorithm, comprising: applying an autoregression analysis to each of the first and second windows, yielding autoregression coefficients and a residual variance for each window; estimating a parameter vector for each window based on the autoregression coefficients and residual variances; and determining a difference between the parameter vectors; and determining seizure onset and seizure termination based on the difference between the parameter vectors. A non-transitory computer readable program storage unit encoded with instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform the method.

摘要: Dispatch-aiding communications between computing devices of a responder and a dispatch unit include a computing device of the responder determining that an event occurred, automatically sending an indication of the event to a computing device of the dispatch unit, receiving a request for information from the computing device of the dispatch unit, obtaining the information requested by the computing device of the dispatch unit, and sending the information requested by the computing device of the dispatch unit to the computing device of the dispatch unit. The computing device of the dispatch unit sends the request for information to the computing device of the responder in response to receiving the indication of the event.

摘要: Devices and methods are provided for breath gas analysis when determining the difference in the concentrations of at least one gas in the exhaled breathing air on the one hand and in the ambient air on the other hand. The device may include at least one gas sensor, by means of which the concentration of a gas can be determined, and a line system, through whose lines the exhaled air to be examined, the ambient air and a calibrating gas can be selectively pumped to the gas sensor. The method may include feeding ambient air; feeding calibrating gas to the gas sensor; feeding exhaled air to the gas sensor; feeding calibrating gas to the gas sensor again; and feeding exhaled air to the gas sensor again.

摘要: A method of distinguishing sleep period states that a person experiences during a sleep period, the method comprising: using a non-contact microphone to acquire a sleep sound signal representing sounds made by a person during sleep; segmenting the sleep sound signals into epochs; generating a sleep sound feature vector for each epoch; providing a first model that gives a probability that a given sleep period state experienced by the person in a given epoch exhibits a given sleep sound feature vector; providing a second model that gives a probability that a first sleep period state associated with a first epoch transitions to a second sleep period state associated with a subsequent second epoch; and processing the feature vectors using the first and second models to determine a sleep period state of the person from a plurality of possible sleep period states for each of the epochs.

摘要: A method of monitoring physiological conditions including an acoustic measurement device and a remote controller. The remove controller configured to measure physiological conditions; calculate absolute tidal volume, a direction of tidal volume, and a rate of change of tidal volume; correlate absolute tidal volume, a direction of tidal volume, and a rate of change of tidal volume to a risk score; calculate a direction trend and rate of change for each physiological condition; correlate the direction trend and rate of change for each physiological condition; detect predefined patterns in the direction trend and rate of change of the measured physiological condition at the predetermined interval; and generating at least one from the group consisting of an alert, an alarm, and a medical treatment if the risk score defined on the predefined scale exceeds a first predetermined risk score threshold and at least one predefined pattern is detected.

摘要: The invention concerns a system for monitoring, characterising and evaluating a user's cough comprising a sensory instrumentation unit (2), including at least one abdominal contraction sensor (3) and at least one acoustic sensor (4), wherein the acoustic sensor (4) is triggered only when abdominal contractions are detected; a microcontroller (1); at least one data flow unit; and a data processing and analysis unit for cough assessment (5).
The invention solves the problem of under-assessment of cough in medical practice, allowing to objective analyse the cough, contributing to the medical diagnosis by establishing parameterized cough patterns, involving the frequency, type of cough, the user's body position and other data regarding events which potentially cause cough. The invention also protects the user's privacy, as acoustic sensory data are only recorded when there are abdominal contraction events.
