    摘要: Methods and apparatuses to place a prosthesis within a receiving structure are provided. A delivery apparatus includes an elongated support member including a support member distal end. A stop cap is disposed at the support member distal end and includes a stop cap transverse dimension larger than an inner diameter of a receiving lumen of the receiving structure. An elongated prosthesis-positioning member extends along the support member and stop cap so a distal surface of the prosthesis-positioning member is disposed at a position longitudinally coincident with a portion of the stop cap. A sheath comprises a sheath lumen receiving the prosthesis-positioning member so the sheath translates longitudinally relative to the prosthesis-positioning member. The delivery apparatus has a loaded configuration in which the prosthesis is received in the sheath lumen with a proximal end of the prosthesis abutting the prosthesis-positioning member distal surface.

    摘要: A method for implanting a heart valve assembly includes positioning a bottom portion of a seal against an aortic annulus of a patient. The heart valve assembly includes an inner frame comprising a graft covering housing a prosthetic heart valve, wherein the graft covering extends around the prosthetic heart valve for providing sealing to the heart valve, an outer frame formed from a metallic material and defining a gridded configuration, and being secured to the graft covering by a plurality of stitches, and a sealing material positioned externally to the outer frame for providing sealing between the outer frame and a patient's anatomical wall to prevent paravalvular leaks. The sealing material includes a plurality of radially extending fibers that extend outwardly of the outer frame. The graft covering is made of polyester, polytetrafluoroethylene, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, or a polymer.

    摘要: A deployment apparatus and method for deploying one or more stents to a bifurcated vessel is provided. The invention is particularly suited for T-type bifurcated vessels where a side branch extends from a main branch. The deployment apparatus has a primary inflatable portion for engagement within the main branch and a secondary inflatable portion for engagement within the side branch. A main stent is arranged on the primary inflatable portion and radially expanded within the main branch while the secondary inflatable portion maintains registration with the side branch. A side branch stent is then arranged on the secondary inflatable portion and expanded within the side branch while the primary inflatable portion maintains registration with the expanded main stent. A bifurcated stent system suitable for bifurcated lesions is also provided comprising a side branch stent with a shaped end designed to engage a similarly shaped side opening in a main stent.

    摘要: A stent includes a fluid-permeable stent body having longitudinally separated proximal and distal stent ends. The stent body has inner and outer stent body surfaces. The stent body defines at least one longitudinally extending primary lumen and at least two longitudinally extending secondary lumens laterally spaced from one another with at least a portion of the primary lumen interposed laterally therebetween. The secondary and primary lumens all are at least partially fluid-permeable between the inner and outer stent body surfaces. At least one fluid-impermeable and longitudinally extending berm is located directly laterally adjacent a corresponding secondary lumen. The berm prevents fluid flow laterally between at least a portion of the corresponding secondary lumen and a space laterally opposite the secondary lumen beyond the berm. A method of using the stent in at least partially extending a superior landing zone of an abdominal aortic aneurysm is also described.
