Abstract: Systems and methods for autonomous sterilization of vehicles includes coded logic or processing instructions to determine (i) when sterilization should occur (or not occur), (ii) where sterilization should occur (or not occur), and/or (iii) how sterilization should occur (e.g., which method to use, how long to conduct, and/or which parameter values/settings to employ). The sterilization system may autonomously determine when it is safe to sterilize an environment/location and/or how such sterilization should be carried out. Autonomous sterilization systems and/or processes described herein may permit facilities and/or services to remain open and/or available at higher rates than current offline processes permit, thereby increasing availability.

Abstract: A multistage connector assembly for a lumen decontamination system is provided. The assembly includes a main body, a multistage body, a multistage barrier, a connector, and one or more biasing members. The assembly includes a multistage barrier movable in the fluid passageway between a fully closed position in which each stage of the multistage barrier is in a closed position to each independently block flow in the fluid passageway and a fully open position in which each stage is in an open position to allow flow within the fluid passageway. The connector is configured to engage the multistage barrier when coupled to the main body to sequentially open each stage of the multistage barrier to enable flow through the fluid passageway. The biasing member(s) are configured to urge each stage of the multistage barrier towards a closed position that blocks flow in the fluid passageway.

Abstract: The invention relates to a medical washer/disinfector, comprising a washing chamber for receiving medical articles to be washed/disinfected, an opening for accessing the interior of the washing chamber, a door which is movable from a lowered open position to a raised stop position and then to a raised closed position. The door is associated with a first slide surface. The medical washer/disinfector also comprises a carrier arrangement vertically movable by a motor, the carrier arrangement comprising a second slide surface for enabling slidable contact with the first slide surface. A spring member extending vertically upwardly from the carrier arrangement to a connection area of the door. The door is pushed upwards by the spring member until the door reaches said raised stop position. Continued upward movement of the carrier arrangement causes the spring member to become more compressed, whereby the door moves horizontally from the raised stop position to the raised closed position.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for disinfecting skin tissue around catheters. The system comprises an adaptor, wherein the adaptor defines a catheter entry opening for entry of a catheter into the adaptor and a catheter exit opening for exit of the catheter from the adaptor. The adaptor comprises an outer surface and an inner surface which defines an inner cavity for receiving at least a section of the catheter, wherein the inner cavity extends from the catheter entry opening to the catheter exit opening. The system further comprises at least one light source for emitting UVC light, wherein the light source is arranged such that the UVC light is emitted away from the adaptor. The disclosure further relates to a method of disinfecting skin tissue around a catheter inserted into the skin of a patient. The disclosure further relates to the use of a catheter in a system disclosed herein.

Abstract: A writing utensil sanitizing assembly and method for sanitizing a writing utensil prior to and after using the writing utensil to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria from touching the writing utensil includes a housing having a first end wall, a second end wall, and a perimeter wall attached to and extending between the first and second end walls. The first end wall has a first aperture extending therethrough, and the second end wall has a second aperture extending therethrough. The first and second apertures receive the writing utensil. An absorbent medium is positioned within the housing and has an open conduit extending therethrough and receives the writing utensil such that the writing utensil abuts a surface of the open conduit. The absorbent medium absorbs a sanitizing fluid for application onto the writing utensil when the writing utensil passes through the open conduit.
