Abstract: A method for treating esophageal cancer in situ with heated air that can be inhaled through a face mask, at an elevated temperature less than sauna air temperatures and at a constant positive air pressure. The inhaled heated air will heat the very thin tracheoesophageal party wall sheath membrane between the esophagus and the respiratory trachea in the throat. The tracheoesophageal party wall sheath membrane therefore can heat the esophageal cancer tumor adjacent to the heated trachea and tracheoesophageal party wall sheath membrane. The heated air will be inspired/inhaled through the mouth and into the trachea/windpipe. Then the trachea and trachea tube under heated constant positive pressure will then transfer heat through and to the esophagus wall, and esophagus and tumor. The heat from the heater air inspiration through the trachea migrates/transmits/disperses across the membrane separating the trachea/windpipe from the esophagus and hits the esophagus with heat.

Abstract: A method for controlling a ventilator to provide variable volume (VV) with average volume assured pressure support (AVAPS), including: producing a VV target volume using a VV distribution function; producing a volume error Verror that is the difference between the VV target volume and a measured volume of the previous breath; scaling the volume error Verror; producing a VV target difference as the difference between VV target volume and the VV target volume of the previous breath; producing a modified volume error by adding the VV target difference to the scaled volume error Verror; producing a delta pressure support ΔPS based upon the modified volume error and a dynamic compliance; and producing a current pressure support value based upon the delta pressure support ΔPS and the pressure support value of the previous breath.

Abstract: A heating control circuit and a ventilator are provided. The heating control circuit includes a control device and a switching device, an input end of the control device being connected to an alternating-current power source, an output end thereof being connected to a control end of the switching device, and an output end of the switching device is connected to a heating member; and the control device is configured to generate, according to different output voltages of the alternating-current power source, a driving signal for controlling a duty ratio of the switch device to adaptively change, so that the power output from the switching device to the heating member is constant.

Abstract: A system includes a guidance device that provides feedback to a user to compress a patient's chest at a rate of between about 90 and 110 compressions per minute and at a depth of between about 4.5 centimeters to about 6 centimeters. The system includes a pressure regulation system having a pressure-responsive valve that is configured to be coupled to a patient's airway. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed during successive chest compressions in order to permit removal at least about 200 ml from the lungs in order to lower intracranial pressure to improve survival with favorable neurological function. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed until the negative pressure within the patient's airway reaches about −7 cm H2O, at which time the pressure-responsive valve is configured to open to provide respiratory gases to flow to the lungs through the pressure-responsive valve.
