摘要: Provided herein is a catheter system including a catheter having a catheter distal end and a catheter proximal end, with the catheter defining a catheter lumen. The catheter system also includes a catheter hub coupled to the catheter proximal end, with the catheter hub further including a hub body having a hub distal end and a hub proximal end, the hub body having a cavity formed therein extending between the hub distal end and the hub proximal end. The catheter hub also includes an end port positioned at the hub proximal end and that provides an opening into the cavity. A split-septum connector of the catheter system is positioned at least partially within the end port, with the split-septum connector configured to seal the cavity when in a closed configuration and provide a fluid path to the catheter lumen when in an open configuration.

摘要: A flow switch device includes a flow switch with four ports oriented at 90 degree intervals around a center of the flow switch. The flow switch is of a type that forms selectable flow passages between ports separated by 90 degrees and blocks flow between ports separated by 180 degrees in each of multiple selected positions. Two of the ports are connected to fixed flow passages and each of the fixed flow passages defines a flow path toward a remote port separated from each of the fixed flow passages by 180 degrees so that each of the fixed flow passages and a respective remote port are positioned in pairs on opposite sides of the flow switch.

摘要: A fat harvesting systems and related methods of harvesting and reinjecting fat that provides a medical professional with multiple technique options. Harvested fat can be subjected to a variety of pre-reinjection preparation steps within a single, self contained reservoir such that the potential for contaminating the harvested fat is avoided. The fat harvesting system can be completely self-contained kit requiring no additional external systems or alternatively, can utilize available surgical suite systems, for example, vacuum to successfully harvest, prepare and reinject fat cells. The fat harvesting system can size harvested fat cells so as to be especially desirable for different injection locations in the body. The fat harvesting system is a single use, disposable system that requires no sterilization equipment and recovered and sized fat cells are maintained in a sanitary environment so as to avoid contamination that could result in having to discard recovered fat cells.

A drill bit may comprise a coaxial hollow shaft in communication with a plurality of apertures disposed on a surface of the drill bit. A fluid inlet may be in fluid communication with the coaxial hollow shaft via a selectively openable valve. The fluid inlet may be configured to receive pressurized fluid. When the valve is opened, the pressurized fluid may be released into the coaxial hollow shaft, and when at least one of the plurality of apertures is not blocked, the pressurized fluid may be released through the at least one aperture of the plurality of apertures.

摘要: A medical female connector (10) for controlling a fluid flow is disclosed, as well as a method for its manufacturing, and medical devices including such a female connector. A tubular plunger (40) and a flexible valve member (60) are inserted into a housing (20). A distal end (42) of the plunger (40) is located at a distance proximally from the distal end (22) of the housing (20). In a flow stop configuration, the flexible valve member (60) seals a flow path (44) through the tubular plunger (40). In a flow configuration, the valve member (60) is compressed by a male connector (90) and deformed by the plunger (40) to allow a fluid flow through the plunger (40). A frusto-conical female sealing surface (24) is arranged to form a seal with the male connector (90). An entrance opening (25) of the housing (20) presents a diameter equal to or larger than the maximum diameter (d1) of the female sealing surface (24).

摘要: Some embodiments are directed to a connector for connection with a fluid transfer device, including an outer body having a longitudinal axis; and a luer lock connection port positioned within the outer body and configured to be coupled with an external port of said fluid transfer device. The luer lock connection port can be rotatable about the longitudinal axis at least in one of a clockwise direction and a counter-clockwise direction at least prior to initiation of coupling thereof with the external port. The outer body can be structured, and the luer lock connection port is positioned therewithin, such that to prevent an operator to access, through the outer body, directly by fingertips an exterior of the luer lock connection port after the luer lock connection port has been coupled with the external port.
