Abstract: A breathing system includes a pressurized fluid supply, a downstream breathing device, and a fluid regulator comprising. The fluid regulator includes an inlet in fluid connection with the fluid supply, and an outlet in fluid connection with a downstream breathing device. The fluid supply supplies fluid at a first pressure to the inlet, and the fluid is at a second pressure at the outlet that is lower than the first pressure. The fluid regulator also includes a boost tube disposed within an outlet portion of the fluid regulator. The boost tube includes a body defining a length and a plurality of apertures extending through the length of the body and configured to reduce the turbulence of the fluid flowing from the outlet to the downstream breathing device.

Abstract: An approach for providing real-time information and guidance for oxygen management to a user operating a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is disclosed. The approach receives data from IoT devices associated with a user, analyzes the data using machine learning algorithms trained on a dataset of historical data and simulated scenarios. The approach generates an oxygen-use prediction based on the analyzing. Furthermore, the approach generates one or more recommendations based on the prediction and displaying the prediction and the recommendation on a HUD (head up display) of a user.

Abstract: Gas mixture used for ventilation of passengers and crew in emergency situations. Depending on the density altitude, it has 7±5% CO2 at 15,000 ft flying altitude increasing to 17±5% CO2 at 30,000 ft flying altitude. The carbon dioxide improves the bioavailability of oxygen in the body. The gas mixture is produced by additive dosage of CO2 to either pure O2 or to a gas mixture having a fraction of N2 and a fraction of O2. The method for ensuring good ventilation in case of loss of cabin pressure, or generally in case of hyperventilation, involves making the gas mixture above available via respiration masks. The use of such a gas mixture also for ensuring good ventilation of people with limited mobility, if such ventilation is required. The prescribed amount of onboard oxygen for aircraft can thus be reduced and flight routes leading directly over high-altitude terrain may be taken.
