There is provided a card for media playback, the card comprising a media output, a memory storing at least one of a plurality of media tracks of a media, a communications interface inter-connectable with one or more additional cards storing other media tracks of the plurality of media tracks of the media, and a media processor. The media processor is configured to detect, via the communications interface, any of the one or more additional cards connected to the communications interface to determine connected cards, and cause a playback of at least one of the plurality of media tracks in the memory in combination with at least one of the other media tracks of the plurality of media tracks on the connected cards. This enables concurrent playback of multi-track media-based trading cards, providing entertainment and collectible value for users.

摘要： A programmable apparatus for selectively reading machine readable codes, such as bar codes in a user defined sequence. Each code represents an action to be performed by the apparatus. In the apparatus, data representing read codes are generated and stored in a memory. A plurality of such data representing a user defined sequence of actions may be stored. Upon reading stored data, the apparatus can execute corresponding actions in the user defined sequence. Actions to be performed by the apparatus can include: starting, reversing and stopping of an electric motor; increasing and decreasing its number of revolutions; playing tones for generating melodies; and simulating everyday life sounds, such as the sound of a truck engine. The apparatus may be placed in a toy car or truck, in which it senses a tacho disc and synthesizes the sound of the truck's engine with a simulated number of revolutions corresponding to the speed with which the truck is driven.

The invention comprises a speech analysis unit that creates a speech data pattern corresponding to the input speech; a timing circuit for generating time data, for example, as variable data; a coefficient setting unit receiving the time data from the timing circuit and generating weighting coefficients that change over time, in correspondence to the content of each recognition target speech; a speech recognition unit that receives the speech data pattern of the input speech from the speech analysis unit, and that at the same time obtains a weighting coefficient in effect for a pre-registered recognition target speech at the time from the coefficient setting unit, that computes final recognition data by multiplying the recognition data corresponding to each recognition target speech by its corresponding weighting coefficient, and that recognizes the input speech based on the computed final recognition result; a speech synthesis unit for outputting speech synthesis data based on the recognition data that takes the weighting coefficient into consideration; and a drive control unit for transmitting the output from the speech synthesis unit to the outside.

摘要： A battery-powered doll which cries or laughs, depending upon how it has been stimulated. There is an optical sensor fixed in the mouth of the doll and connected to an integrated circuit located in the torso of the doll. When there is insufficient light striking the sensor, the doll cries through a speaker in the doll's torso. When the doll is subsequently brought into the light to sufficiently expose the sensor, the doll laughs for a short, but variable length of time. There is a first pressure actuated switch positioned in the doll's torso such that it may be actuated by a tickling type of pressure applied to the side of the torso. The doll laughs when this switch is actuated. There is a second pressure actuated switch in the doll's torso which may be activated by pressing the stomach area of the doll. The doll cries in response to actuation of this second switch. The crying of the doll may be interrupted by triggering of the laughing sound, but the crying sound may be triggered only when the doll is not laughing.

The sequence of sounds evidences a stepwise learning process defined by a plurality of learning steps, each step being composed in turn of a predetermined subsequence of wrong sounds followed by correct sounds. A speech detector detects human speech when energized and, in response thereto, indexes the subsequence of sounds to the next sound within the current step and actuates the speech generator and, at the end of each step, indexes the sequence of sounds to the first sound of the next step and causes the speech generator to request the selected touch. A touch detector detects a selected touch when energized and, in response thereto, actuates the speech generator. The speech generator is responsive to each appropriate actuation of the speech and touch detectors for promptly generating the currently indexed sound after deactuation of the speech and touch detectors.

摘要： A turn table having a sound recording disk or record mounted thereon is normally urged upwardly by a spring disposed between a lower surface of the turn table and a chassis of a casing to apply a stylus force to a pickup. A weight member is rotatably and eccentrically supported on an inside mounting plate, and an operating claw having a slant surface formed on a lower surface is fixed to the weight member. When a shock is applied to the weight member externally, the weight member rotates by an inertia force in a plane perpendicular to a rotary shaft of the turn table. As a result, the operating claw on the weight member moves toward an upper end of the rotary shaft. The slant surface of the operating claw rides over the upper end of the rotary shaft to downwardly press the rotary shaft together with the turn table. Thus, the stylus force of the pickup is released. When the weight member returns to an original position, by a return spring, the operating claw retreats, and the turn table also returns to the upper position.
