Abstract: A method for operating a chromatography setup of a bioprocess installation with a plurality of chromatography columns, each with a column inlet and a column outlet, and a valve switching cassette with a group of inlet ports, a group of outlet ports, a group of column-in ports and a group of column-out ports. It is prosed, that a first liquid stream of concentrated buffer is introduced into a first internal liquid line via a first inlet port and that a second liquid stream of diluent is introduced into a second internal liquid line via a second inlet port, that in a dilution process, the array of valve units is switched as to create a third liquid stream by merging the first liquid stream and the second liquid stream at a merging location within the valve switching cassette.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments provide chromatography column positioning assemblies that can ensure that the distance between face seals or other sealing surfaces/mechanisms at the respective ends of a liquid chromatography column is a desired distance (i.e., the length of the liquid chromatography column). The exemplary embodiments can adjust the separation between the face seals to accommodate different length liquid chromatography columns. For example, a chromatography column positioning assembly of an exemplary embodiment can set the distance between face seals to accommodate a 25 mm column, a 50 mm column or a 100 mm column.

Abstract: The spin column of the present invention is used for filtering and extracting biological molecules, such as nucleic acids and proteins. When the spin column is used, it is placed inside a collection tube, which is then placed in a centrifuge slot and the centrifuge is activated. The internal volume of the spin column of the present invention is larger than that of a conventional spin column, allowing it to accommodate a larger amount of specimens. Additionally, the filter membrane positioned inside the spin column of the present invention is smaller than that of conventional spin columns. The amount of washing solution required to wash the biological molecules from the filter membrane is proportional to the size of the filter membrane. Therefore, less washing solution is required in the present invention. Since the spin column of the present invention can accommodate a larger amount of specimen, the number of biomolecules contained in the specimen is also larger. Since less washing solution is required to dissolve and recover the biomolecules from the filter membrane, the concentration of collected biological molecules in the washing solution is higher.
