摘要: A filter element comprises one or more several tubular filter media element segments, which may be pleated filter media ring segments. One or more heat activated disks are used to connect each tubular filter media element segments together and/or to connect tubular filter media element segments with one or more end cap supports. The heat activated disks are solid in form for assembly with tubular filter media ring segment and then heat activated to bond with tubular filter media ring segments. Multiple end caps can be simultaneously bonded to one or more tubular filter media element segments if a filter stack assembly of component are heated together, such as in an oven. Filter media may also be simultaneously cured. Heat activated disks may be used as pleat stabilizers and/or for and/or as part of end caps.

摘要: There is described a method of use of a mass exchanger. In the method the mass exchanger comprises: a first channel for accommodating flow of a liquid to be treated; and a second channel for accommodating flow of a treatment agent, the first and second channels have a permeable membrane provided between them, so as to allow transfer of selected species between the first channel and the second channel. The steps of the mass transfer method comprise passing the liquid to be treated along the first channel and introducing a mixture of liquid and gas into the second channel to provide a two-phase treatment agent. It is desirable to provide a means of adjusting the concentration of gas species in a liquid such as blood, while simultaneously controlling the temperature of the liquid and optionally adjusting the concentration of ionic and/or dissolved species in that liquid. By this method and mass exchanger providing a two-phase treatment agent, it is possible to simultaneously deliver gaseous species (e.g. oxygen) into the treated liquid, while making use of the high heat capacity of the liquid phase of the treatment agent to transfer significant heat into or from the treated liquid.

摘要: A blood plasma and blood cell separation device includes a first body, a blood plasma separation membrane and a second body. The first body has an injection port. The blood plasma separation membrane is disposed on the first body. The second body is movably assembled to the first body and has a collecting stage. The collecting stage has a collecting surface and a sampling recess on the collecting stage. When a blood enters the blood plasma separation membrane from the injection port of the first body, a blood plasma in the blood plasma separation membrane is separated by a capillary force between the collecting stage of the second body and the blood plasma separation membrane, and the blood plasma enters in the sampling recess by a relative movement between the first body and the second body.
