Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for lowering the toxic pollutants from emissions containing molecular filter media compositions and methods of production. The filter media provides air purification by absorbing the effluents from the emission and then repurposing the contaminants through chemical interaction on the surface of the filter media and the regenerant. The adsorbent composition of the filter media maintains its integrity at high process temperature.

The method includes: a first step of suctioning EO-containing air that contains ethylene oxide emitted into the partition space and supplying the EO-containing air to a concentration device; a second step of removing a water content from the suctioned EO-containing air, and thereafter adsorbing and concentrating ethylene oxide by an adsorbing material, in the concentration device; a third step of desorbing the concentrated ethylene oxide from the adsorbing material and sending the ethylene oxide to a removal device; and a fourth step of decomposing and removing ethylene oxide gas by the removal device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for obtaining exhaust streams from wood drying processes and controlling emissions in exhaust streams from wood drying processes are provided. Methods and systems can include pre-treatment steps, such as removing particulate matter and/or heating a process exhaust stream from a wood dryer, in order to obtain an exhaust stream that is suitable for downstream recovery of terpenes from said exhaust stream. Exhaust streams can be contacted with a sorbent to remove volatile organic compounds, and other emissions, generating a purified air stream that is able to be released into the environment without further purification or oxidation.
