    摘要: A dry powder inhalator for delivering a precise dose of a medicament contains a mesh disc impregnated with a series of spaced, medicament doses about the disc periphery. The inhalator is armed by manually retracting a finger pull extending downwardly from the bottom of the inhalator housing or rotating the bottom of the housing. The user inserts a mouthpiece on the housing into the mouth and inhales. This causes a chamber in the housing under a diaphragm to evacuate, thereby pulling the diaphragm down onto a knock out lever. The pivoting of the lever enables release of a piston into a cylinder which first compresses, and then dispenses a reduced volume of air at high pressure in a burst up through the medicament disc. When the burst of air hits the impregnated disc, the dose is forced out of the mesh's interstices, producing a cloud of the drug in its powdered form, which is inhaled by the user.

    摘要: An inhaler apparatus having a housing having first and second walls and defining an air inlet and an air outlet. The first and second walls define an internal housing volume and have portions being movable relative to each other so as to expand the internal housing volume from a non-inhalation state, wherein the internal housing volume has a first volume, to an inhalation state, wherein the internal housing volume has a second volume. The second volume is larger than the first volume. An air flow chamber is defined within the housing between the air inlet and the air outlet when the housing is in the inhalation state. A medicament is contained between the first and second walls. The medicament is exposed within the air flow chamber when the housing is in the inhalation state.

    摘要: An inhalation device is provided for inhalation of a powder medicament. The device comprises a body 55 defining a reservoir 56 for medicaments in powder form, an outlet 57 through which a user can inhale and a dosing member 53 with at least one metering recess 65 formed therein. The dosing member 53 is moveable between a position in which the at least one metering recess 65 communicates with the reservoir 56 to receive a dose of powder therefrom and a position in which the at least one metering recess 65 communicates with the outlet 57 to permit the user to inhale the dose. The at least one metering recess 65 is formed in a face of the dosing member 53, the face being mounted in contact against a similar mating face 60 of the body 55 at the lower end of the reservoir 56. At least one moveable weight may be incorporated within the device, adapted to strike an anvil surface when the device is shaken.
