The punch shaft has an element head at the head underside of which only one continuous circumferential clamping ring is arranged that projects axially in the direction of the punch shaft.

摘要: A swaging tool for fastening a pair of plate members sewages a collar fitted to a pintail side of a fastening pin, where a pinhead of the fastening pin is positioned on one of the plate members and the pintail of the fastening pin is positioned on the other plate member, to the fastening pin with the collar being in contact with the other plate member and to apply a tensile load to the pintail to break off and remove the pintail. The swaging tool includes a holding member that holds the pintail of the fastening pin, a swaging member having a swaging die that comes into contact with and sewages the collar, and a stroke mechanism configured to expand and contract a space between the swaging member and the holding member. The stroke mechanism includes a rotatable rotary member that converts a rotation of the rotary member to the expansion and contraction of the space between the holding member and the swaging member and restricts a rotation of the swaging member and a rotation of the holding member.

摘要: A method for undetachably introducing a guiding aid element into at least one joining location of at least one component is provided. The method includes the acts of: a) perforating the at least one component at the at least one joining location in a first press stroke of a tool press, wherein a preliminary hole is formed at the at least one joining location; b) inserting a joining aid element into the at least one preliminary hole; and c) pressing the at least one joining aid element with the at least one component in a subsequent press stroke or working step to form a material-bonding, form-fitting and/or force-fitting connection between the at least one component and the at least one joining aid element. A component and a composite component produced by such a method are also provided.

摘要: A feed assembly for a foot-pedal operated riveter and a method of using the same is disclosed. The feed assembly includes a rivet stop that has a tip that separates a lowermost fastener from a second from lowermost fastener when the riveter is in a non-operational position. This rivet stop prevents fasteners from sliding down a raceway on the feed assembly. When the riveter is moved into an operational position, the rivet stop moves out of the way and permits the second from lowermost fastener to slide into position for subsequent installation. The rivet stop thus enables automatic reloading of the riveter during operation.

摘要: A system and method of joining at least two workpieces together using a friction rivet and a friction rivet cap that are friction stirred together after a cutting tip or cutting feature on the friction rivet cuts through workpieces and is then bonded to the friction rivet cap, and wherein the friction rivet cap may be excluded if the friction rivet includes a hollow in the cutting tip, the hollow being flared after the friction rivets cuts through the workpieces to thereby create an integral rivet cap in the end of the friction rivet.

摘要: A mounting unit includes a mounting part for a mating surface of a basic structure which cannot be welded to the mounting part and a welding element fixed in a through-bore of the mounting part. The welding element corresponds to the bore and has a thickness at least as large as the mounting part. An annular groove is formed in the welding element. A part of the welding element bounding the groove on the outside forms a form-locking connection element expanded outward and fixing the welding element in the bore by a form-locking connection toward the mounting side. A central region radially within the annular groove is a welding surface for the mating surface, is aligned with or protrudes beyond a mounting-side edge region of the bore with an overhang and is aligned with or projects over the form-locking connection element. A production method is also provided.

摘要: The invention relates to a riveting tool for setting blind rivet nuts and/or blind rivet screws, comprising a drive piston which is able to be hydraulically adjusted from an initial position toward an end position and a drawing mandrel which is able to be brought releasably into operative connection with the drive piston and is able to be adjusted by the drive piston between a rivet receiving position and a setting position. In order to provide a riveting tool of the type mentioned in the introduction, uniform setting processes of rivets being able to be carried out thereby with a high degree of repeated accuracy, it is provided that the riveting tool for fixing the setting position of the drawing mandrel comprises a setting unit comprising a stroke limiting element which is able to be adjusted in the longitudinal axial direction of the drive piston and which is able to be brought into engagement with the drive piston.
