Abstract:
A crank press with an adjustable stroke comprises a press frame having a frame slideways therewithin with a slider reciprocatively movable therealong and supported by a pneumatic cylinder. In order to significantly increase a working force, a length of the working stroke and efficiency, the crank press further comprises: at least two mutually synchronized crank drives configured for reciprocatively moving the slider along the frame slideways, a lever-crosspiece mechanism having at least one pair of threaded guide stanchions secured within the frame bed, a crosspiece slidably mounted on the guide stanchions atop the slider, at least two two-arm levers hingedly connected to the slider supportadly on the crosspiece, at least one pair of crosspiece stop nuts engaged with threads of the guide stanchions and configured for arresting the cross-piece at the moment of applying a force to the slider by the lever and a switching arrangement for slider reversal with regulation of its stroke.
Abstract:
A radial forge is provided with variable radial displacement. The forge includes upper and lower frames having upper and lower double acting hydraulically driven rams. The forge also includes a horizontal master gear mounted on a circular thrust bearing to provide rotational freedom. One or more radial hydraulically drive rams are mounted to the master gear. Accordingly, the master gear serves as a gantry for positioning the radial rams. A billet may be centrally located between the inwardly directed radial rams and may be supported by the lower ram. The upper ram is aligned with the lower ram so that actuating the upper ram and/or lower ram compresses the billet between them and forces the billet to flow into and fill radial dies removably affixed to the radial rams.
Abstract:
A forming device, (e.g., a spindle press), can include a processing head, having a processing tool that is guided along a movement axis for the forming processing a workpiece, and a processing region, located opposite the processing head, a processing station configured for the forming processing of the workpiece, and a rotary table having an axis of rotation parallel to the direction of movement and workpiece receptacles that are arranged, with respect to the axis of rotation, in an offset manner with respect to one another in the circumferential direction. The rotary table is configured such that each of the workpiece receptacles is transferable into at least one first working position located within the processing region and into at least one, second working position at least partially laterally outside a cross-sectional area of the processing head in axial projection with respect to the axis of movement.
Abstract:
A tool for repairing defects in a member is provided. The tool includes a first housing, a second housing, and a shaft positioned at least partially within the first housing and the second housing. The shaft is configured to move along a longitudinal axis of the tool with respect to the first housing and the second housing. Furthermore, the tool includes an anvil coupled to the second housing, a biasing device coupled to the shaft and to the anvil, and a tip coupled to the anvil. The anvil is configured to be selectively contacted by the shaft and to transmit a force received from the shaft to the tip.
Abstract:
A draw press includes a carriage moveable toward a work piece and an upper die movably secured to the carriage. The upper die is movable with respect to the carriage to draw the work piece. A method for drawing a metal part is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A fully hydraulic edging system suitable for use in wide plate mills is disclosed. The need for electro-mechanical screws to effect large movements of the side rollers is avoided by employing a pull-back hydraulic cylinder for this purpose. The main hydraulic cylinders are switched to a non-operational mode during large movements thus avoiding the need for large volumes of hydraulic fluid to be transferred under high pressure.
Abstract:
A gas spring mount and related method for metal forming dies includes a one-piece, split clamping ring having a generally ovate plan shape with two spaced apart axes of symmetry. A generally circular clamping portion extends around the first axis, and is shaped to receive a gas spring body therein. A hook-shaped end extends around the second axis, and is shaped to receive a tapered head mounting member therein. A resilient free end is located operably between the clamping portion and the hook-shaped end portion, whereby tightening of the mounting member shifts the hook-shaped end outwardly and the free end inwardly to constrictingly pull the clamping ring securely against the gas spring body, and contemporaneously attach the assembly to an associated die member.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a punching press with a clamping plate (27) and with a press ram (1) which lies opposite the upper side of the clamping plate (27) and operates towards the clamping plate (27) and is moveable up and down via four tension columns (2) by means of a crank drive arranged below the belt movement plane (X) of the punching press. The press ram (1) is guided exclusively via the tension columns (2) which, in turn, are guided in inclination-tolerant guides (3) in the belt movement plane (X) in such a manner that the press ram (1) and the tension columns (2) can be positioned obliquely as a consequence of differing longitudinal expansion of the tension columns (2) under an eccentric load by the tension columns (2) being inclined about axes of inclination running in the region of the belt movement plane (X) of the punching press. By means of the configuration according to the invention, distortion of the punching press under an eccentric load, which would lead to uncontrollable operating conditions during the punching and a high degree of wear at the guides of the machine, is avoided, and it can be ensured that, in the event of a possible skewed position of the ram, no tool offset, which would result in a high degree of tool wear or even in tool fracture, occurs.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for actuating of processing machines like metal forming machines and method, control and application of an apparatus for actuating said metal forming machines. The processing machine is driven by at least two rams with pressurized fluid, like water, whereas the rams are actuated by variable pumps with different fluid under pressure, e.g. hydraulic liquid.
