摘要： A method is used to manufacture a surgical instrument configured to apply a surgical clip to a patient. The surgical instrument includes a jaw retaining assembly. The jaw retaining assembly includes a shaft and opposing first and second jaws. The method includes metal injection molding a first metallic portion of the jaw retaining assembly. The method also includes metal injection molding, stamping, and/or laser cutting a second metallic portion of the jaw retaining assembly, wherein the second metallic portion is separately formed from the first metallic portion. The method also includes fixably coupling the first and second metallic portions of the jaw retaining assembly together.

The embodiments pictured and described herein are primarily for use with a rotatable hammermill assembly. The hammer includes a connector end having a rod hole therein, a contact end for delivery of energy to the material to be comminuted, and a neck affixing the connector end to the contact end. The neck is formed with at least one neck recess therein. In other embodiments, one or more shoulders are positioned around the periphery of the rod hole for added strength. In still other embodiments, the contact end is configured with more than one contact surface.

摘要： Described herein are several methods and apparatuses for treating a cutter tool adapted to be used in tunnel boring operations. In one form, an initial cutter member blank is formed and heat treated prior to a laser cladding process. An alloy is often applied to the surface of the cutter blank adjacent to the cutting elements by the cladding process whereby the cladding process has insufficient heat transfer from the cladding process to reduce hardness properties of the inserts and/or the cutter blank. In one example a fabric-like material defines the region of the exterior hard surface.

摘要： A blade exchange device may be used to remove or install a blade on a medical or surgical instrument such as a dermatome. The blade exchange device generally includes a base portion and a blade engaging portion that engages the blade being removed or installed. The blade exchange device may be used in a system that also includes a magnetic tool for coupling and moving the blades that are removed or installed. The blade exchange device, system and method may be used, for example, with commercially available dermatome instruments such as the type known as the Goulian-Weck knife.
