Abstract: A molding machine for molding material is provided. The machine includes a cavity to be filled with molten metal and a conduit system leading to the cavity, thus forming a system of interconnected hollow spaces. At least one pressure member is moveable in at least part of the conduit system. A centrifugal pump in fluid communication with a reservoir of molten metal is provided, the pump providing molten metal to the hollow space receiving the at least one pressure member.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing an estimate of uniformity of wall thickness of a centrifugally cast object, such as a pipe cast from molten iron, substantially immediately after the casting process is complete. The volume of molten metal entering the mold over time is determined and correlated with casting machine position and velocity data to estimate wall thickness along the length of the pipe. Process defects can then be identified promptly and corrective action taken.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems, apparatuses, and methods of providing a centrifugally cast rotor assembly for an induction motor of an electric vehicle. The rotor assembly includes a rotor lamination stack with a cylindrical shape that terminates in a first end surface and a second end surface. The rotor lamination stack has multiple lamination discs, and each lamination disc has multiple rotor slots. The rotor assembly further includes copper bars disposed within the rotor slots, a first intermediary end ring disposed at the first end surface, and a second intermediary end ring disposed at the second end surface. A centrifugally cast first copper end ring that electrically and mechanically couples each of the copper bars is located proximate the first end surface, and a centrifugally cast second copper end ring that electrically and mechanically couples each of the copper bars is located proximate the second end surface.

Abstract: In a localized torsional severe plastic deformation method for conical tube metal, a desired region of a conical tube metal can be subjected to severe plastic deformation using molds in which roughness is formed at predetermined regions. The method includes roughening a predetermined region of each of the molds; sticking the conical tube metal only to the roughened regions of the molds; moving the lower mold toward the upper mold to apply a load to the conical tube metal; and rotating the molds to apply severe plastic deformation to the conical tube metal only at the regions stuck to the roughened regions of the molds.

Abstract: This application relates to a heat transfer tube, its method of manufacture and its use for thermal cracking hydrocarbon feeds, such as thermal cracking in furnaces. The heat transfer tube comprises a chromium and aluminum carburization-resistant alloy capable of generating a typically continuous aluminum oxide scale under thermal cracking conditions that reduces coking and thereby enhances heat transfer. The carburization-resistant alloy comprises 25.1 to 55.0 wt. % nickel; 18.1 to 23.9 wt. % chromium; 4.1 to 7.0 wt. % aluminum; and iron. Additionally, the carburization-resistant alloy has at least one strengthening mechanism to provide desirable mechanical properties. The carburization-resistant alloy composition is also resistant to the formation of cracks during centrifugal casting.
