Abstract:
A hole cutter assembly is operable to cut a plurality of different sized diameter holes in a work piece. The hole cutter assembly includes an arbor configured to connect to a power tool for rotation about an axis, a drill bit coupled to the arbor for rotation with the arbor, a first arm moveable relative to the axis, a first cutting blade coupled to the first arm and moveable with the first arm, a second arm moveable relative to the axis, and a second cutting blade coupled to the second arm and moveable with the second arm. The first and second cutting blades are selectively moveable relative to the axis to adjust a cutting diameter of the hole cutter assembly. The drill bit engages the first and second arms to inhibit movement of the first and second cutting blades relative to the drill bit.
Abstract:
A device for more efficient coupling and de-coupling of a hole saw to an arbor. A hole saw has a bottom wall with a central threaded hole. The arbor's clamping device has first and second thread-engaging parts for engaging the internal thread in the hole saw's bottom hole. The thread-engaging parts are moveable with respect to one another perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the hole saw. When the thread-engaging parts are in a first, disengaged position, the clamping device allows retraction from or insertion into the hole saw's bottom hole substantially longitudinally. When the thread-engaging parts are in a second or engaged position having a larger circumference, the clamping device engages the internal thread in the hole saw's bottom hole for clamping the clamping device in the hole. The clamping device used in the hole saw provides a quick-coupling for mounting a hole saw on an arbor.
Abstract:
A hole cutter assembly is operable to cut a plurality of different sized diameter holes in a work piece. The hole cutter assembly includes an arbor configured to connect to a power tool for rotation about an axis, and a body coupled to the arbor for rotation with the arbor. The body defines an aperture. The hole cutter assembly includes a drill bit removably received in the aperture of the body for rotation with the arbor, an arm moveably coupled to the body, and a cutting blade coupled to the arm and moveable with the arm relative to the body. The arm is moveable relative to the body to adjust a cutting diameter of the hole cutter assembly when the drill bit is not received within the aperture. The arm is fixed relative to the body when the drill bit is received within the aperture.
Abstract:
A hole saw having a central body portion adapted to receive a hole saw blade portion. The body and the blade have correspondingly shaped apertures and lugs that co-operate together to hold the blade in place. A locking means further assists in ensuring that the blade remains locked to the body and includes a sliding klatch that engages an aperture in the blade and the body and is itself locked in place to thereby lock the blade to the body.
Abstract:
A hole machining system includes: a robot including a hand provided with a hole saw for drilling a hole in a thickness direction of a workpiece and a push-out portion for pushing outward a chip of the workpiece remaining inside the hole saw; a contacted portion disposed in such a position that the push-out portion can come in contact with the contacted portion; and an ejecting device for gripping the chip pushed out of the hole saw.
Abstract:
A rotary tool accessory in one embodiment includes a base, a circular wall extending upwardly from the base about a central axis, the circular wall including an inner face, an outer face and a circular rim, a first cutting group including a first inwardly extending tooth extending from a location directly above the circular wall to a location closer to the central axis than the inner face, a first outwardly extending tooth extending from a location directly above the circular wall to a location farther from the central axis than the outer face, and a first gullet extending downwardly from the rim toward the base, a second cutting group including a second inwardly extending tooth, a second outwardly extending tooth, and a second gullet, and a toothless expanse of the rim extending between the first cutting group and the second cutting group.
Abstract:
A hole cutter for cutting a work piece, such as a wood and/or metal work piece, has a substantially cylindrical blade body defining a wall thickness within the range of about 0.032 inch to about 0.038 inch, and a cutting edge formed on one end of the blade body including a plurality of teeth defining an average tooth pitch within the range of about 3.5 TPI to about 5.5 TPI for cutting the work piece and forming chips therefrom. The substantially cylindrical blade body and cutting edge define an average tooth pitch to blade body thickness ratio of at least about 110.

Abstract:
A hole saw has an arbor and a cup shaped cutting member. The cup shaped cutting member has an annular skirt with a plurality of teeth at its free end. A drill bit is secured on the arbor. The drill bit includes a pilot point with a first cutting edge. A second edge is formed on the body portion of the drill bit to form a constant diameter hole in the workpiece.
Abstract:
A hole-saw assembly including a hole-saw having at one end a plurality of cutting teeth and at the other end two shafts. The assembly includes a mandrel coaxially aligned with said hole-saw and including a body having two bores therethrough coaxially aligned with said shafts. An annulus located on top of the body is coaxially aligned with said mandrel and hole-saw and includes two holes, the annulus rotatable around its longitudinal axis from a first to a second position. In the first position, the annulus holes are aligned with the bores and shafts allowing the shafts to be freely insertable and removable and in the second position the holes are misaligned to lock the shafts to the annulus. Such an arrangement allows the hole-saw and the mandrel to be easily and quickly mountable and demountable.
