A preferred embodiment of the tool also includes a lock associated with the apparatus which has a lock position that prevents the removable, portable power source from unintentionally becoming separated from the power tool, and an unlock position that enables the removable portable power source to be selectively removed from the internal compartment of the housing and separated from the power tool. A preferred embodiment of the power tool includes the use of a rechargeable, removable, portable power source and an electrical connector which allows the power tool to be powered by an alternate power source located externally of the power tool.

    摘要: A portable, battery operated sanding or surface treatment device well adapted for use on a backyard barbeque grill. A combination handle/battery compartment extends downward from the horizontal element of an L-shaped bracket. An electric motor which is contained inside a motor casing is provided. The motor casing includes a portion of larger diameter and a portion of smaller diameter. Extending from the end of the motor casing of larger diameter is a rotating drive shaft. Attached to the drive shaft is a cylinder drive of predetermined span. An annular bearing assembly is provided whose external diameter is substantially similar to the predetermined span of the cylinder drive and whose internal diameter is slightly larger than the dimension of the smaller portion of the motor casing. The bearing assembly surrounds the smaller portion of the motor casing and the motor casing is screwed to the vertical portion of the L-shaped bracket. A cylindrical surface treatment member is chosen and positioned over and abuts the cylinder drive and bearing assembly. An appropriate battery is inserted into the handle/battery compartment and is electrically wired to the motor. The surface member is interchangeable. The cylindrical abrasive member is oriented perpendicularly to its handle without the use of gears to change the direction of rotation.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method and two apparatuses enabling suction control over surface cleaning and scraping. Suction control is necessary so as to obtain good contact between a cleaning/scraping pad and the surface to be cleaned/scraped, thereby achieving efficiency. Also, suction control is required so as to collect debris falling off during the cleaning/scraping process, which may otherwise contaminate the environment. Suction control provides guidance for the movement of a cleaning/scraping pad sucked on the surface of an object. This implies convenience when cleaning/scraping over a large surface area is attempted. Suction action is generated by convecting away surrounding fluid, being either water or air, to produce local negative pressure at the pad position. The disclosed devices are most desirable in cleaning water containers, such as a fish tank or a swimming pool, as well as to collect dusts on scraping the surface of a mortar wall.
