Abstract:
A plugged honeycomb structure includes: a honeycomb substrate and a plugging portion, and is configured to trap particulate matter included in fluid flowing from an inflow side end face to an outflow side end face. The partition wall includes, as raw materials, particulates of a base material and a binder and having a melting point lower than that of the base material, the base material has a particle diameter in a range of 5 μm to 60 μm, a mass ratio of the binder to a total mass of the raw material of the base material and the binder is in a range of 22 mass % to 45 mass %, and the cells include round cells as a part, the round cells being defined by a circular-arc partition wall having a circular-arc shape that is at least a part of the partition wall to have a circular shape or the like.
Abstract:
Frame assemblies, molds, and methods for forming rotor blades are provided. A frame assembly for a rotor blade mold includes a plurality of frames, at least one of the plurality of frames movable relative to the others of the plurality of frames, and a bed supported by the plurality of frames. Movement of the at least one of the plurality of frames causes a modification of the bed along a width-wise axis. A mold for forming a rotor blade includes a frame assembly and a mold material disposed in the bed of the frame assembly.
Abstract:
A portable conduit bending frame assembly has a support member, a shoe and a heating device. The support member has a first alignment end, a second alignment end, and a first conduit measuring device that extends an approximate width of the support member. The support member also has a flat conduit support surface fixed thereto, and extending substantially perpendicular to a top surface of the support member. The top surface has at least a portion of a first attachment strip located thereon. The shoe has a first alignment surface extending substantially perpendicular to a second alignment surface, an arcuate conduit bending surface extending between the first and second alignment surfaces, and a complementary attachment strip extending at least partially on a major surface of the shoe. The conduit bending surface faces the conduit support surface and the shoe is removably attachable to the top surface such that either of its alignment surfaces can be aligned parallel with either alignment end of the support member. The heating device is arranged proximate the conduit support surface for heating a conduit prior to bending the conduit at least partially about the conduit bending surface.
Abstract:
A candle top and reshaper fit snuggly over a candle. The reshaper includes interior and straight tapered, curved or otherwise angled sidewalls that when fitted over a burning candle, the softened candle rim and sides are forced back into the center of the candle, causing the softened rim to reshape and prolong the candle burn time. Alternatively the walls of the reshaper are vertical and force the softened sides and rim down and into the center. The reshaper also protects the softened and liquefied wax of the candle from dirt and insects during the re-cooling process and the top provides a decorative cover when candles are stored.
Abstract:
A support arrangement retains several calibration dies of a calibrating device disposed one after the other in the extrusion direction on a calibrating table of an extrusion plant. The support arrangement includes a support plate and a mounting plate separate from it. A joint arrangement is disposed between the support plate and the mounting plate and enables the support plate to be spatially displaced relative to the mounting plate.
Abstract:
A ceramic green arc tube for a metal vapor discharge lamp wherein an outer diameter of the arc discharging portion is larger than that of the end portions holding the discharging electrodes is produced by preparing a stiff plastic body consisting mainly of a ceramic material or which main component is alumina, and a binder of which main component is thermal geltinizing organic substance; forming the prepared body into a straight tubular body by means of an extruder; placing the tubular body into an inner cavity of molding die having the above described ceramic arc tube shape wherein the molding die has been previously heated; closing one end portion of the tubular body; applying a compressed fluid from another opened end portion of the tubular body into the inside of said tubular body to inflate the central portion of tubular body until contacting to the inner cavity surface of the molding die,; hardening and drying the inflated body with the heat of previously heated molding die; and ejecting the dried body from the die. This production is characterized in that the forming is effected by using a die comprising two halves of die divided by a plane parallel to an axial direction of the tube, said two halves forming an inner circumferential cavity conforming to the shape of the tube when the two halves are engaged, vents provided at the cavity portion and perforating from the inner surface of the cavity to the outside, and heating means.
Abstract:
A ring for stabilizing the upper end of concrete pipes during their hardening, comprising an inner and an outer ring part, one of which presents a shaping face for the pipe while the other one is provided with an inflatable annulus serving, when inflated, to press the pipe material, while still plastic, firmly against said shaping face.
Abstract:
A device for expanding an end of a pipe made of a plastic having a shape memory includes a plurality of spreading elements movable in a radial direction from a starting position, in which the spreading elements are insertable by a predetermined distance into the end of the pipe, to an outward-extended position, in which spreading surfaces of the spreading elements are each brought into an effective position against an interior surface of the end of the pipe, so as to expand the end of the pipe. A mechanism is configured to move the spreading elements from the starting position to the outward-extended position. An actuator is configured to vary a maximum radial distance of the spreading surfaces in the outward-extended position from a center axis. At least one fastener is configured to lock the radial maximum radial distance set by the actuator.
