Abstract: A double belt press has at least one press device having at least one pressing plate and at least one counter-pressure element for the pressing plate spaced from each other. Portions of first and second endless and driven metal belts are guided, opposite one another, through a press gap located between the pressing plate sides facing one another and the plate-shaped counter-pressure element. The press device has at least one pressing stamp having a pressing surface movable toward the counter-pressure element and back again. The first and second endless metal belt portions guided through the press gap are guided between the pressing surface of the at least one pressing stamp and the at least one counter-pressure element, and the pressing surface of the pressing stamp is smaller than a surface of the side of the at least one pressing plate facing the at least one counter-pressure element.

Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods for double-sided imprinting are provided. An example system includes first rollers for moving a first web including a first template having a first imprinting feature, second rollers for moving a second web including a second template having a second imprinting feature, dispensers for dispensing resist, a locating system for locating reference marks on the first and second webs for aligning the first and second templates, a light source for curing the resist, such that a cured first resist has a first imprinted feature corresponding to the first imprinting feature on one side of the substrate and a cured second resist has a second imprinted feature corresponding to the second imprinting feature on the other side of the substrate, and a moving system for feeding in the substrate between the first and second templates and unloading the double-imprinted substrate from the first and second webs.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a transverse tensioning system that comprises a left-side clamping assembly comprising a first left-side clamp element and a second left-side clamp element. The first left-side clamp element and the second left-side clamp element clamp down on the left edge portion of the stack of plies when the stack of plies moves in a feed direction and is shaped between opposing dies. The system also comprises a right-side clamping assembly, spaced apart from the left-side clamping assembly and comprising a first right-side clamp element and a second right-side clamp element. The first right-side clamp element and the second right-side clamp element clamp down on the right edge portion of the stack of plies when the stack of plies moves in the feed direction and is shaped between the opposing dies.

Abstract: Mold-in fastener products are made by forming a longitudinally continuous hook tape having a flexible base and an array of discrete male touch fastener elements extending from an upper surface of the base, forming a layer of flexible barrier material on the upper surface of the base, such that the male touch fastener elements are embedded in the layer of flexible barrier material, severing the flexible barrier material to form a pattern of patches of flexible barrier material spaced apart and surrounded by a continuous lattice of barrier material, stripping the lattice from the upper surface of the base to expose regions of the base between patches, and severing the hook tape along the exposed regions of the base to form individual mold-in fastener products, each having a patch of flexible barrier material surrounded by an exposed base edge region carrying male touch fastener elements.

Abstract: This manufacturing method of a molded surface fastener involves a primary molding step for forming a primary molded body and a secondary molding step for compressing a provisional element of the primary molded body while heating the same. A molding apparatus is provided with a mold member comprising multiple penetration holes and multiple concave portions, whereof each penetration hole communicates to at least one concave portion; in the primary molding step, the molding apparatus is used to form a primary molded body comprising a provisional element having a primary stem portion and a pawl portion is formed from the protruded portion by compressing the provisional element. By this means, it is possible to stably manufacture a molded surface fastener that has an engaging element comprising a pawl portion that projects from the outer peripheral edge of an engaging head portion.
