    Abstract: A multi-layer biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP) can include a core layer; an outer functional layer with the functionalities of heat-sealing, winding, printing, or receiving coatings or metallization; and an outer heat-sealable layer with partially crosslinked polydialkylsiloxane to provide excellent slipperiness and machinability. The partially crosslinked polydialkylsiloxane is not detrimental to the metal adhesion and printability of the functional layer; and maintains excellent heat-seal properties, low and consistent COF, and low and consistent hot slip properties.

    Abstract: A material deposition system for additive manufacturing including an extruder that defines a first input passage for supplying a first material, a second input passage for supplying a second material, a chamber for combining the first and second materials to form a combined deposition material, and an extrusion port for extruding the combined deposition material. The system further includes an adjustable sleeve that is movable between a first position and a second position to vary the interaction between the first material and the second material in the chamber. For example, the adjustable sleeve may be configured to separate the first and second materials in the chamber, and can vary the point at which the materials interface with each other prior to deposition based on the sleeve position. Such a system may enable a varying degree of infiltration, encapsulation, or other interaction between the first and second materials prior to deposition.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a tank from thermoplastic material, comprising the following method steps: extruding or providing a hose-like parison composed of plasticized thermoplastic material, and dividing and spreading the parison into two areal extrudate webs, or extruding or providing two parisons in web form, laying-in and molding the parisons in recesses of a multi-part blow-molding tool using differential pressure, wherein the recesses of the blow-molding tool delimit a mold cavity, punching out, or cutting out in a circular shape, at least one opening in at least one shell-like intermediate product, wherein the opening is produced by way of a punching or cutting tool which penetrates through a wall of one of the shell-like intermediate products, wherein in a second separate method step, a first attachment element of a line connection or of a line arrangement is welded, at the mold cavity side, to the wall of the shell-like intermediate product, in such a way that an encircling weld collar of the first attachment element sealingly surrounds the opening, joining the shell-like intermediate products to form a tank, and removing the tank from the blow-molding tool, and connecting a second attachment element, which is complementary to the first attachment element in the context of a plug-type connection, to the first attachment element, wherein the plug-type connection is produced within the contour of the tank as defined by the tank wall.

    Abstract: A method of producing a divided conduit containing, in order forming a strip-shaped textile having a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge, extruding a molten thermoplastic polymer into the form of an at least partially molten conduit having an inner surface and an outer surface, and placing at least one strip-shaped substrate within the at least partially molten conduit during or directly after conduit formation such that the first longitudinal and second longitudinal edges of the strip-shaped substrate embed into the inner surface of the conduit. The strip-shaped textile is selected from the group consisting of a woven, non-woven, and knit and the strip-shaped textile is air permeable. The inner surface and outer surface of the conduit is continuous.
