摘要: The present invention presents a method of fabrication for a physiological sensor with electronic, electrochemical, and chemical components. The fabrication method comprises steps for manufacturing an apparatus comprising at least one electrochemical sensor, a microcontroller, and a transceiver. The fabrication process includes the steps of substrate fabrication, circuit fabrication, pick and place, reflow soldering, electrode fabrication, membrane fabrication, sealing and curing, layer bonding, and dressing. The physiological sensor is operable to analyze biological fluids such as sweat.

摘要: The present invention provides a non-porous, breathable and waterproof transparent plastic film on a plastic substrate and methods for fabricating the same. The film includes a thermoplastic polyester resin, an amphiphilic modifier having a hydrophilic segment that acts as a channel for water vapor transmission through the film connected to a hydrophobic segment that anchors the amphiphilic modifier to a portion of the polyurethane base resin and a compatibilizer. The resultant non-porous, breathable and waterproof transparent plastic film has a water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) or breathability of not less than 250 g/m2/24 hr according to ASTM E96B, and having at least 90% of the transmittance. They are also resistant to liquid penetration and micro-contaminants such as bacteria and virus, making them suitable for broad applications in medical, healthcare and food packaging industries.

摘要: An extruder or other similar tool head of a three-dimensional printer is slidably mounted along a feedpath of build material so that the extruder can move into and out of contact with a build surface according to whether build material is being extruded. The extruder may be spring-biased against the forward feedpath so that the extruder remains above the build surface in the absence of applied forces, and then moves downward into a position for extrusion when build material is fed into the extruder. In another aspect, modular tool heads are disclosed that can be automatically coupled to and removed from the three-dimensional printer by a suitable robotics system. A tool crib may be provided to store multiple tool heads while not in use.
