Abstract: The disclosure relates to a multilayered hose (1, 10) with a plurality of coaxially arranged sheaths (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13). The multilayered hose (1, 10) includes at least a force bearing sheath (2, 6), a diffusion reducing sheath (4), and an adhesion promoting layer (3, 5) that is arranged between the force bearing sheath (2, 6) and the diffusion reducing sheath (4) and that increases the bonding force between said force bearing sheath (2, 6) and said diffusion reducing sheath (4). The adhesion promoting layer (3, 5) includes a mixture of: 65 to 85 parts of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, 15 to 35 parts of styrene butadiene rubber, 75 to 125 parts of carbon black N990, 30 to 100 parts of calcium magnesium carbonate, 5 to 15 parts of zinc oxide, 5 to 20 parts of magnesium-aluminium hydroxycarbonate, 25 to 125 parts of resin package blend, 2 to 10 parts of N-(1.3-dimethylbutyl)-N′-phenyl-p-phenylendiamine, 5 to 15 parts of triallyl cyanurate, and 0.5 to 5 parts of a vulcanizing agent.

Abstract: A grasp assist system includes a glove, finger saddles attached to a respective glove finger, one or more tendon actuators, and artificial tendons. The saddles have a rectangular body partially circumscribing a respective glove finger. Each saddle includes end lobes at opposite distal ends of the body. A first end of each tendon is secured to one of the tendon actuators. A second end forms a triple Brummel loop defining a main loop and two anchor loops. The anchor loops are disposed around the lobes. The saddles may form a rounded, double-headed arrow shape that is at least double the thickness of the body. The finger saddles are anisotropic, with different bending strengths depending on the axis, and may be constructed of thermoplastic polyurethane-coated nylon. Flexion and/or contact sensors and a controller may be used. A method of connecting the tendon actuator to the finger is also disclosed.

Abstract: A molding apparatus (10) for forming a retaining device. The molding apparatus (10) comprises a molding strip (12) and a molding support (24). The molding strip (12) has an inside face (14), an outside face (16), and a plurality of through cavities (18) extending from the outside face (16) to the inside face (14), the molding strip (12) extending in a longitudinal direction (X) and presenting both a transverse direction (Y) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (X), and also a height direction (Z) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (X) and to the transverse direction (Y). Abstract: A multi-layered film laminate for use in making hot filled blister packages and a method of making such material is provided. The laminate generally includes a central core layer of barrier polymer film disposed between a slip film and a thermostable film. In particularly advantageous embodiments, the barrier film is a polychlorotrifluoroethylene film, the slip film is a polyvinyl chloride film, and the heat resistant film is a temperature resistant copolyester. The disclosed material provides a high moisture barrier and a stable inter-laminar structure that can withstand hot filling of liquids, such as liquids used to form soft and/or gummy dosages on form-fill-and-seal blister packaging machines.

Abstract: A pipe belt system comprising one or more thermoplastic elastomeric (TPE) layers and a reinforcement layer is disclosed. The one or more thermoplastic elastomeric (TPE) layers have a first modulus of elasticity and a first stiffness and formed across a width of the belt. The reinforcement layer is formed proximate to the one or more TPE layers and has a second modulus of elasticity and a second stiffness. The pipe belt is configured to have an open state where the belt is substantially flat and a closed state where the belt is formed having a circular shape and partially overlaps itself. The pipe belt has a combined modulus of elasticity based on the first modulus of elasticity and the second modulus of elasticity and a combined stiffness based on the first stiffness and the second stiffness.
