Abstract:
A nanowire device of the present description may be produced with the incorporation of at least one hardmask during the fabrication of at least one nanowire transistor in order to assist in protecting an uppermost channel nanowire from damage that may result from fabrication processes, such as those used in a replacement metal gate process and/or the nanowire release process. The use of at least one hardmask may result in a substantially damage free uppermost channel nanowire in a multi-stacked nanowire transistor, which may improve the uniformity of the channel nanowires and the reliability of the overall multi-stacked nanowire transistor.
Abstract:
A system for printing on a substrate can comprise a conveyor that is configured to move the substrate along a substrate movement axis. The system can further comprise at least one print head array. Each print head array has a plurality of print heads, each print head having a respective orientation axis. The plurality of print heads can have at least a first print head and a second print head, wherein the orientation axis of the first print head is angularly offset from the orientation axis of the second print head. The first print head can be offset from the second print head along the substrate movement axis.
Abstract:
A mandrel wherein a portion of the mandrel body outer surface is conical; i.e., flared outwardly, is provided. In this configuration, the necked can is drawn against the conical portion of the mandrel body outer surface while a generally cylindrical portion of the mandrel body extends into the can. Further, the space between the cylindrical portion of the mandrel body and the can is pressurized so as to resist deformations in the can during the decorating process. In an exemplary embodiment, the mandrel includes an elongated mandrel body with an outer surface, a proximal, first end, a proximal medial portion, a distal medial portion, and a distal, second end and having an axis of rotation. The mandrel body outer surface includes an elongated conical portion; the mandrel body outer surface conical portion is disposed adjacently about the mandrel body first end.
Abstract:
A customization system for a tubular article of apparel includes a printing system for printing a graphic onto the tubular article. The customization system also includes a cylinder for holding the tubular article for printing a graphic upon the article. The cylinder can include one or more recesses in the outer surface of the cylinder to accommodate one or more regions of increased thickness on the tubular article. By providing recesses in the cylinder that correspond to the regions of increased thickness, the tubular article can present a substantially uniform flat surface for printing the graphic upon.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to using soft photopolymer plates in a printing process, and more specifically, to an apparatus and methods of using soft photopolymer materials to decorate an exterior surface of cylindrical metallic containers with high definition graphics and other indicia.

Abstract:
There is provided a disc drive device including a recording and playback unit that performs recording or playback of an information signal on a disc-shaped recording medium having a printing surface and a recording surface; a printing head that performs printing on the printing surface of the disc-shaped recording medium; a roller that is separated from or comes into contact with an outer circumferential surface of the disc-shaped recording medium and rotates the disc-shaped recording medium by being rotated while in contact with the outer circumferential surface; a spring member that biases the roller in an axial direction of the roller; and a position restricting member that has a restricting section against which the roller biased by the spring member is pressed and performs the positioning of the roller in the axial direction.
Abstract:
A system for digitally printing directly on a plurality of containers is provided. In an embodiment, the system includes a device configured to determine an initial position or orientation of an individual container; a plurality of print heads configured to print directly on said containers; and a plurality of container holders configured hold or retain an individual container, to rotate the individual container, and to maintain a rotational position of the individual container relative to at least one print head while printing occurs; and one or more curing devices. The system may be configured such that the plurality of container holders are configured to move along a linear or curved path, and the plurality of container holders may be configured to controllably rotate about a container axis.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of using a combination permanent partial decoration and temporary decoration to mass customize refillable glass vessels. The method comprising: decorating a glass vessel with a permanent partial decoration, receiving the glass vessel at a filling facility, washing the glass vessel in caustic solution to remove presence of a temporary decoration, filling the glass vessel with a product contents, printing the temporary decoration on the glass vessel, distributing the glass vessel to a marketplace for use by a consumer, receiving the consumer used glass vessel at the filling facility, and recycling the glass vessel by returning to the step of washing. Other embodiments include not using the permanent partial decoration and printing the temporary decoration on the glass vessel, wherein at least some of the temporary decoration is printed on top of a background region to increase the luminance qualities of the temporary decoration.
Abstract:
By reducing a level difference between an overlapping portion and an ink layer in a portion in continuity with the overlapping portion, wrinkles caused duo to a neck-in processing are reduced, and a degradation of a film-strength in the overlapping portion is prevented. In a seamless can in which an ink layer is transferred onto a can body thereof by a curved surface printing, the ink layer which has been transferred, has an overlapping portion which is formed by an ink layer at a front-end portion and an ink layer a rear-end portion in a circumferential direction of the can body being overlapped mutually, and an ink area ratio for at least one of the ink layer at the front-end portion and the ink layer at the rear-end portion is smaller than an ink area ratio of a portion in continuity with the overlapping portion, excluding the overlapping portion.
