    Abstract: A printing liquid container includes first and second members having a supply port and a valve, respectively. The members rotate with respect to each other between first and second states. The valve closes and opens the supply port in the first and second states, respectively. The first and second members have first and second fitting portions, respectively. The fitting portions fit to a fitted portion of a tank in the first state. The second fitting portion allows rotation of the second member with respect to the fitted portion when the first fitting portion are fitted to the fitting portion. The first member does not rotate together with the second member due to fitting between the fitted portion and the first fitting portion. The second member cannot be removed from the fitted portion due to fitting of the second fitting portion to the fitted portion in the second state.

    Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head including a plurality of nozzles, a cap, and a storing unit, and a control unit. The control unit controls the print head to start and perform an intra-standby preliminary discharge operation where a preliminary discharge operation to discharge ink into a cap is performed at predetermined time intervals during a standby period after the print head finishes a printing operation to print an image, continue the intra-standby preliminary discharge operation if an accumulated value of an amount of ink stored in a storing unit during the preliminary discharge operation is not greater than a threshold value, stop the intra-standby preliminary discharge operation if the stored accumulated value of the amount of ink is greater than the threshold value, and bring the print head into contact with the cap and terminating the standby period if the standby period exceeds a predetermined time period.

    Abstract: Provided is an ink jet recording method with which, even when a recording head in which a protective tape is bonded to an ejection orifice surface which is a water-repellent surface is used, occurrence of ejection misdirection of an ink is suppressed, and the ejection misdirection hardly occurs even after long-period use. The ink jet recording method includes recording an image through use of an ink jet recording apparatus including a wiping unit for an ejection orifice surface subjected to water-repellent treatment. A protective tape to be peeled at the time of use is bonded to the ejection orifice surface. The method includes a first cleaning sequence of wiping the ejection orifice surface through use of one wiper having a blade shape, the first cleaning sequence including a first wiping step and a second wiping step.

    Abstract: A liquid discharging head includes a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzles from which liquid is discharged; a plurality of individual liquid chambers that are communicably connected to the plurality of nozzles, respectively; a common liquid chamber that supplies liquid to the plurality of individual liquid chambers; and a circulation common liquid chamber that leads to a plurality of circulation channels. A part of the common liquid chamber overlaps the circulation common liquid chamber from a direction in which liquid is discharged from the nozzles, and another part of the common liquid chamber overlaps the circulation common liquid chamber from a direction orthogonal to both the direction in which liquid is discharged from the nozzles and a direction in which the nozzles are aligned.
