摘要: An optical writing device, and a method of controlling the optical writing device. The optical writing device and the method includes controlling speed of operation of a light deflector based on image magnifying-power information in a sub-scanning direction parallel to a direction in which a surface of a photoconductor moves, and controlling a prescribed write clock frequency such that a number of clock pulses of write light will become a target number of pulses over a period where the write light scans an area within a prescribed distance in a main scanning direction, the target number of pulses being maintained even when the speed of operation of the light deflector is changed in the controlling the speed of operation of the light deflector. The write clock frequency controller maintains the target number of pulses even when the speed of operation of the light deflector is changed by the light-deflector controller.

摘要: A radiation-curable ink jet composition comprises a polymerizable compound component including a monofunctional monomer component and a multifunctional monomer component. The content of the monofunctional monomer component is 87 mass % or more based on the polymerizable compound. The monofunctional monomer component includes a nitrogen-containing monofunctional monomer component, and the content of the nitrogen-containing monofunctional monomer component is 14 mass % or less based on total amount of the radiation-curable ink jet composition. The weighted average of the glass transition temperatures of homopolymers of the respective polymerizable compounds is 42° C. or more when the mass ratios of the contents of the respective polymerizable compounds are weighted.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a light source, a deflecting unit, a storing unit, a correcting unit, and a light source driving portion. Magnification correction data is determined using a quadratic function of a variable representing a scanning position with respect to a scanning direction. Coefficients of two quadratic functions corresponding to adjacent two regions included in a plurality of scanning regions are set so that a differential value calculated at the variable corresponding to a boundary of the two regions by a differential of the quadratic function for one region and a differential value calculated at the variable corresponding to the boundary of the two regions by a differential of the quadratic function for the other region are equal to each other.

摘要: A multi-pass UV inkjet printer for outputting high glossy varnish and a printing method using the same includes providing a side UV light irradiation device at a side of an inkjet module and a front UV light irradiation device in front of the inkjet module not overlapped by a varnish print head. During output of the varnish, varnish outputted on a substrate in the nth pass is passed under the side UV light irradiation device with a lower UV irradiation power during or after the n+1th pass performed by the UV inkjet printer for setting or temporarily no curing, and then during or after the next pass, the varnish is passed under the front UV light irradiation device with a higher UV irradiation power for complete curing, thereby increasing production yield.

摘要: A multifunction device includes a scanner and a printer disposed below the scanner. The scanner includes a support surface to support a document, and a scanning unit to scan the document. The scanning unit includes a sensor including reading elements arranged in a main scanning direction, and a moving member holding the sensor and configured to move in a sub-scanning direction. The scanner is connected to the printer pivotably between a first position at which the scanner conceals an upper portion of the printer, and a second position at which the scanner exposes the upper. In response to the moving member moving in the sub-scanning direction, a responsive mechanism shifts the lock mechanism between an operative state in which the lock mechanism restricts pivoting of the scanner relative to the printer, and an inoperative state in which the lock mechanism permits pivoting of the scanner relative to the printer.
