摘要： According to one embodiment, a transporting path transports a paper with a heat erasable image. A first color erasing unit has a first heat roller and a first press roller. A second color erasing unit, downstream of the first color erasing unit, has a second heat roller and a second press roller. A gear drive train, engages the first heat roller and the second heat roller. An opening and closing mechanism moves between an open and a closed position. While maintaining the state of the gear drive train, the open position has the first press roller separated from the first heat roller and the second press roller separated from the second heat roller. In the closed position, the first press roller is in close proximity to the first heat roller and the second press roller is in close proximity to the second heat roller.

摘要： In general, according to an embodiment, an erasing section erases the image on the sheet. A first conveying path conveys the sheet fed from a sheet feeding section and is provided with a reading section and a discharge section downstream of the reading section in a sheet conveying direction. A second conveying path is branched from the first conveying path downstream of the reading section in the sheet conveying direction and upstream of the discharge section in the sheet conveying direction. The second conveying path merges with the first conveying path upstream of the reading section in the sheet conveying direction and is provided with the erasing section. A sorting member, which is located at a branch point at which the second conveying path is branched from the first conveying path. A recording section is located on the first conveying path and records count information indicative of an erase count.

The printer further includes an erasing unit including a heating body for erasing print of the rewritable printing medium by pressing the heating body to be in pressure contact with the rewritable printing medium, a printing unit for printing the rewritable printing medium, a determination unit for determining whether an abnormality occurs in conveyance of the rewritable printing medium, and a control unit for controlling at least one of the erasing unit and the conveying unit for releasing the pressure contact of the heating body on the rewritable printing medium, if the determination unit determines that an abnormality occurs.

摘要： An erasing device includes a line scanner on an upstream side in a recording medium conveying direction, includes a thermal head downstream in the recording medium conveying direction of the line scanner, and includes a platen in a position opposed to the thermal head as a heating device across a recording medium conveying path. The erasing device causes the heat generating elements of the thermal head in positions corresponding to color and density sensors in positions of an image detected by the line scanner to generate heat. The erasing device controls, according to detected colors or density, a quantity of heat to be generated.

摘要： The desktop organizer includes a main tray for adhesively mounting to a top rear surface of the computer keyboard and a set of removable compartments for detachably mounting to a rear edge of the main tray. Each compartment is provided with a upper forward depending flange for engaging with an upper edge of the main tray. The compartments thus depend from the main tray along a rear surface of the keyboard. The compartments are arrangeable along the length of the main tray in a variety of different configurations. One or more of the compartments is sized for storing computer floppy disks. At least one of the compartments is sufficiently short such that, when positioned along the rear surface of the keyboard, it does not interfere with a keyboard cord extending outward from the rear of the keyboard. The provision of detachable and reconfigurable compartments allows the desktop organizer to be configured to avoid interference with access to disk drives of the computer. The invention thus provides a simple and inexpensive desktop organizer for mounting directly to a computer keyboard and for storing pencils, pens, computer disks and the like for easy access while using the computer.

摘要： In thermal printing the guide (29) positionable toward the platen (3) on a pivoted arm (50) during lift-off correction allows a bond for correction to set before the ribbon (22) is pulled away. The ribbon (22) has an outer layer which adheres to printed characters at somewhat elevated temperatures but is non-tacky at room temperatures. Thermal printing is conducted by setting the switch (44) for heating to temperatures higher than the lift-off temperature.

摘要： A ribbon (22) in thermal printing has an outer layer (50) which adheres to printed characters at somewhat elevated temperatures but is non-tacky at room temperatures. The embodiment has an active layer of an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, an acrylic polymer, and carbon black. Thermal printing is conducted from the preferred ribbon by setting the switch (44) for heating to temperatures higher than the lift-off temperature. Lift-off is accomplished by returning to the printing position of the error and setting the switch (44) for lower voltage to the printing electrodes (9). The guide (29) allows cooling so that the bond is set before the ribbon (22) is pulled away.
