Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods providing a ribbon sensor configured and positioned to ascertain an orientation of a printing ribbon, including devices, systems, and methods configured for detecting an improperly oriented printing ribbon, and for triggering a response in the event of an improperly installed, and/or for confirming proper installation of a printing ribbon.
Abstract:
The disclosure discloses an ink ribbon. The ink ribbon includes a ribbon base layer, a first layer, and a second layer. The first layer is configured to separate from the ribbon base layer and is disposed on a first surface of the ribbon base layer. The second layer is configured to adhere to a transfer target and is disposed on the first layer. The melting point of the second layer is 60 [° C.] or more and 90 [° C.] or less.
Abstract:
A contact mask for inkjet printing on a solar cell substrate may be generated by creating a printing bitmap of contacts to be printed on the solar cell substrate. The contacts may be located on the solar cell substrate by mapping coordinates of the printing bitmap to coordinates of the solar cell substrate as positioned in the inkjet printer. The location of the contacts on the solar cell substrate may be defined relative to a location on the solar cell substrate, such as relative to center of mass. The contact mask may be printed by the inkjet printer using the printing bitmap and location information of the contacts.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus includes a takeup reel driving motor which, after printing, takes up an ink ribbon to eliminate a slack in the ink ribbon. The printing apparatus includes a control device for comparing a distance (a) over which the ink ribbon R is taken up to eliminate the slack in the ink ribbon R with a distance (b) from a print end position to a print start position for a next color.
Abstract:
A thermal ink ribbon cassette for a mailing machine has an anti-reverse spring for preventing rotation of the take-up spindle in the unwinding direction; a constant-tension drag arrangement, including an expansible stub axle, a cooperating expansion member, and a drag gear mounted on the stub axle in meshing engagement with an array of gear teeth surrounding the base of the ribbon supply spindle; and a guide bar for defining an optimal ribbon path between the entrance opening of the cassette housing and the take-up spindle.
Abstract:
To provide an image-forming material, an image formation method and a method for manufacturing a color proof, where even when laser recording is performed with a higher energy by multi-beam laser light, a light-to-heat conversion substance or a decomposition product thereof is prevented from transferring to the image-forming layer and at the same time, a transfer image having sufficiently high image density, high resolution, and no layer fogging can be formed on an image-receiving sheet. An image-forming material comprising an image-receiving sheet having at least an image-receiving layer and a thermal transfer sheet comprising a support having thereon at least a light-to-heat conversion layer and an image-forming layer, wherein the light-to-heat conversion layer of the thermal transfer sheet comprises a homopolymer and/or a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone.
Abstract:
A formulation and method of printing an ink or meltable ink layer having reactive dyes or mixtures of reactive dyes and disperse dyes as colorants. The ink or ink melt layer also includes an alkaline substance, a binder, and optionally, a heat-activated printing additive. Permanently bonded color images are provided by the reaction between the reactive dye and the final substrate, which may be any cellulosic, protein, or polyamide fiber material, or mixtures with polyester. Reaction occurs upon heat activation of the printed ink image.
Abstract:
A plurality of current patterns with regard to driving current which flows in a driving motor for a ribbon winding shaft are set in advance. The driving motor is driven based on the current pattern selected from a plurality of current patterns on an operation panel. The plurality of current patterns are set in advance so that the tension applied to the ink ribbon, which is between a printing head and a ribbon winding shaft, is an approximate predetermined value from the start to the end of ribbon winding according to the kind of the ink ribbon installed on a ribbon supply shaft.
Abstract:
There are provided a protective layer transfer sheet, which, upon transfer on an image formed by thermal transfer recording, provides a protective layer that can impart stampability and writability with a pen using an aqueous ink, a fountain pen or the like and, at the same time, is excellent in water resistance, solvent resistance and the like, and a print using the same. The protective layer transfer sheet comprises: a substrate sheet; and a thermally transferable protective layer provided on at least a part of one side of the substrate sheet, wherein the thermally transferable protective layer forms a protective layer having a water absorptive property upon thermal transfer and comprises at least a peel layer, a stampable and writable protective layer, and a heat-adhesive resin layer provided in that order as viewed from the substrate sheet side, the stampable and writable protective layer comprises water resistant micro-regions, which are resistant to water and porous, and water absorptive micro-regions formed of a water absorptive resin, and the mass ratio on a dry basis between constituents of the water resistant micro-regions and constituents of the water absorptive micro-regions is 0.1
Abstract:
Disclosed are the following: a wide format thermal printer for printing a multicolor graphic product on a printing sheet; a vacuum workbed for supporting a sheet material for performing work operations, such as cutting, printing or plotting, thereon; a replaceable donor sheet assembly, which includes a memory, for use with a thermal printer; methods and apparatus for improved thermal printing, including methods and apparatus for conserving donor sheet and reducing the amount of time required to print a multicolor graphic product; a thermal printhead including a memory; and methods and apparatus for the alignment of a sheet material for printing or performing other work operations on the sheet material. The wide format thermal printer can include provision for the automatic loading of cassettes of donor sheet from a cassette storage rack.
